Default Some inspiration or direction, please

I have a page that I really want to scrap. Actually, I have several, but I feel as though I need to start at the beginning and scrap the story before scrapping any of the rest of it.

Long story short - we found out last summer that my husband has a daughter we never knew about. I may have mentioned it here. Anyway, we got the paternity results in June, she delivered a baby girl (our first grandchild) in July, and we met her and the baby in August. We've seen her at least once a month since then and have started to develop a relationship. I have a bunch of pictures from our visits that I am dying to scrap, but I really feel called to 'introduce' her on a page before scrapping the rest. I don't know why, but I do.

I don't know how to start this page. How do you scrap about the curveballs life throws at you? Is there a kit that comes to mind?

In poking around in the store, I found this kit that is speaking to me. I like the 'let life surprise you' and 'embrace the journey'. Those phrases fit because while it was a real curveball for us, we did embrace her (and her entire family to be honest, we hosted Thanksgiving for her mom, stepdad and younger brothers) because ultimately why would we not? We have a lot of love to give! Anyway, here's the kit...

Along those lines, are there any other kits that stand out?

What about kits for grandparents? All I see is Life is Grand (and I love it) but it doesn't really apply here.

I don't know, I'm getting ready to put the little man to bed but I'm sure there are a lot of goodies in the store. I'll check back tomorrow to see if anyone else suggested any other products. Congratulations on being a grandmother and developing a relationship with both daughter and child! <3

That's an amazing story Sherri.
If it was me, I think I would want to scrap the 'introduce' page first as well. Tell the story of what happened and than scrap the photos/memories of all the visits.

I think you picked a great kit to scrap that story. I also like the unexpected kit Sherly showed.

I found this one in the store that might fit as well.

A few kit suggestions to tell the story:

As to the grandparent theme - I guess you could use any kit you like and use its alpha for a good big title.
Kristin has one with word bits that could work:

And a few more to consider:

You are fortunate to get to tell a story of love and acceptance. Good luck to you! You deserve so many blessings (and more loving stories and layouts) because of your heart!

Wow, can I just say good for you for being so open and receptive to this new relationship? I know that couldn't have been easy.

Anyway, this is the kit that immediately came to mind, although you've gotten lots of great recommendations already.

I saw that the embrace bundle is in the oldies but goodies section.
So maybe it's a good time to pick it up at a nice price?

Wow Sherri, I'm sure that couldn't have been easy, but it sounds like you are handling it with grace. These are all awesome kit recommendations. I think I'm going to have to pick up a few!

I remember you talking about this, and so amazing that you're grandparents now! I love all the kit suggestions, so I won't add anymore. Just want to sympathize with you on trying to document a big story. I've never tackled my divorce, but I want to figure out how to do it because I have almost all of my 2016 year scrapped and that's the hole in the story. Maybe just start with good ol' pen and paper and jot down what you want to talk about, a sort of outline? Just to give you a secure starting point?

Just an update. I FINALLY scrapped this! Crazy to think its been so long since I first asked about it. We spent a full year getting to know my stepdaughter and the baby. In August of this year they moved to Nevada to be with the baby's daddy (he was deployed during the year they spent with her mom a few hours from us). I miss them so much!

Here is the layout! I used a template by Cindy and the 'True Story' kit that was shared here. The colors went perfectly with my pictures and it really pulled it all together.

You did an amazing job documenting this, Sheri! I'm so glad you had time to get to know her and the baby.
