Default Color issues! Arrgh!

(I posted my little problem at DST but I'm hoping that maybe one of you girls could help figure out what's wrong. I'm going crazy. P)

Hey girls! I'm hoping you can help me with an issue I've been having with my color lately in PS. When I'm creating my LO the color looks great. As soon as I save it everything on my LO looks anemic and washed out. Everything loses it depth, luster and pallor. Any clues as to what's going on and how I can fix it? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm so frustrated!

Are you checking to see if you are creating in RGB or CMYK or possibly any one of the other colour modes? It is under IMAGE and then MODE!!

I'm creating in RGB/8. That is the correct color mode to use, right?

Karrina, the same thing happens to mine when I save as a .jpg. I've always assumed it's because of the compression. If there's a way to fix it, I'd love to know!

Hmmm...I really don't know. Do you flatten the LO before saving as a JPG?

I don't. Maybe I should try that...

Somehow my color settings got changed so with the help of a friend I figured out I could reset my settings to default. Voila. Though, at first I thought it broke it even more because it was showing my LO looking washed out and I hadn't even saved it yet but then I discovered that when my settings got changed it somehow made everything I viewed in PS appear much more rich in color, depth, etc. What I was seeing once I saved it was how it was actually supposed to look! lol
