So content right now
After almost 3 weeks of anxiously waiting, I finally got to go to the Dr this morning. I saw our little one and it's strong little heartbeat!!!
Now, it's real. It's been a little surreal knowing, without officially knowing/seeing. But I had a sonogram this morning and I'm officially 7 weeks 2 days, with a February 29th due date. Leap Year Baby! (And yes, I know the odds of actually delivering on my due date are slim, lol.) We're so so so excited and blessed. My mom is doing backflips through her office telling all her coworkers, lol. I'm sure my MIL will be doing the same now that she gets to tell her sisters (who she talks to all the time, so the last 3 weeks have been TOUGH for her, lol). We're still not announcing to anyone else just yet, but we're both over the MOON to finally see the little bean!! It's official! I'm growing a human!! LOL! I can post the sonogram in a bit, if anyone cares. It's just a little blob, but it's my little blob  ETA: Here's my blob. This is the best of the 3 that we got  7 weeks 2 days, and according to thebump approximately the size of a blueberry   First Sonogram by ColleenSwerb, on Flickr

yay!!! congrats col! Isn't it so exciting that first time?!
I remember when I was first pregnant with lily and I mean.. you hear about pregnancy all the time but when you first experience it for yourself and realize that you really truly have this little person growing inside of you.. so amazing How are you coping with the morning sickness? I discovered with lucas that my pre-natal vitamins were a nasty culprit so had to make sure to take them on a full stomach.

I have to scan the print outs they gave us, and our scanner at work is finnicky. Not to mention I have to be stealth about it because no one at work knows yet, lol.I actually called into the dr's office on Wednesday and they prescribed me the zofran. They were hesitant, but since I spent the majority of monday and tuesday vomiting (12 times on tuesday, it was AWFUL) they gave it to me. If I hadn't been vomiting and was just nauseous, they wouldn't have. But with all the vomiting then dehydration becomes a concern, so I got it. I'm taking half a pill in the morning, and half a pill in the afternoon, and I actually feel like a human being again, LOL! I'm still nauseous, but I can deal with that. It was the vomiting that was killing me. Now I just have to get this constipation under control, lol. Quote:

The little arrow that says "BABY" absolutely cracks me up. Totally reminds me of the Friends episode where Rachel could never find the baby on her sonogram, lol.

I delivered all 3 on their due dates naturally..you can do it! Just get the date set in your head and your body will do the work
 or at least my anal retentive body did..

I had 2 of mine on their due dates--one on her own and one induced (but I think he would have come then or the day after anyway). And my hubby is a leap year baby.... I don't recommend it! His mom didn't want it so bad, but he was 3 weeks late. It just stinks, and no one remembers when you celebrate so they never call the day you do celebrate it. And well, it's just not the same. But, you better believe we are going to throw a HUGE party next year when he turns 8! BUT, that is a super fun due date.

Yay! Congrats on the little blob! Isn't that amazing! I was 10 weeks along when I had mine and I could see little legs kicking already! It is amazing!
Oh and my first was born on his due date (so him!) and my second I was induced 6 days early so who knows. Just don't plan anything for the date (pay rent, mow the yard, see that movie that you've been wanting to see) or it may just decide to change your plans for you! February 28th is a good day to have a baby!

CONGRATULATONS to you and your Husband....Now every time that you go to the Doctors when you hear your baby's heartbeat, you will be so close to tears....That is how I was every time I heard my two grandchildren's heart beats when my daughter when pregnant for them....Isn't this the most amazing part of life?

Aww that's SO exciting Col! That very first time hearing the baby's heartbeat and seeing them on the ultrasound is always an amazing feeling!
I never made it even close to my due dates with any of my three kids, Kaylie was 8 days early, Kelsie was 16 days early and Kyle was 7 days early and I think they all knew I was just DONE being pregnant by that time and decided to be nice to their Mama and come out early lol!

Congrats! I remember breathing such a huge sigh of relief with each of mine when we had that first ultrasound and saw/heard the baby's heart beating. It's crazy how fast you fall in love with them. Enjoy this time, especially now that you're getting some relief from the vomiting. I enjoyed all 3 of my pregnancies, but the first one is so special. You have time to really focus on it and cherish each new development in a way that I didn't with my other 2.

Kat, the ultrasound tech suggested Colace.
Jordan's going to pick me up some next time he runs out to the store. Thanks so much for all the love everyone! I got to call my little cousin, who has been demanding to know when I'm going to have a baby since the wedding (about a year and a half, lol). She almost broke my eardrum with her squeals, lol. We went up to PA for the weekend as Jordan's cousins from TN were all up visiting the grandparents, so we got to tell everyone up there. This little sprout will be the 4th great-grandchild for those grandparents, and they're super excited.

So happy for you Col.
My niece is a leap year baby and we think it is special. It is easy to throw "bigger" parties every 4 years -- and of course we celebrate every year. It also makes for fun scrapbook pages. Is she 8 or 2? Whenever your "bean" decides to arrive will be the perfect day.
