Default baby news :)

So remember I posted a few weeks ago that we were like 80% sure the baby was a boy? Definitely not a boy. My niece in Hawaii paid for my daughter to have a 3-D ultrasound as her gift to them since she will not be here anytime soon as she is due the day before my daughter. Well she is definitely having a girl according to the ultrasound. They already have a name picked out....Austin Bailey. She got the name from the song Austin by Blake Shelton. I am not thrilled with the name choice but it is her baby so I dont have any say on that LOL. I do not think she is going to be changing her mind because she has said she would name her firstborn Austin since she heard that song for the first time.

I think Austin is a cute first name and you never know what might happen. Sometimes things have a way of working out. There is certainly nothing keeping you from coming up with your nickname for the baby once she's born. My mom has little names for my girls and they love that.

Awww congrats!!!! Baby girls are soo much fun!!!!

I absolutely love that song. I think Austin is a good first name. Besides you can call her a nickname or something you like other than her name.

I like Austin and my son loves that song and say he is going to use it for one of his kids too. lol The first one is James after my dad, boy or girl. I hope it is a girl cause I think James is so cool for a girl. Congrats on that little grandaughter Jessica! Better start stocking up on those pink kits now.

I really love the name Austin for a boy it is one of my favorite names. I also really love the middle name Bailey which is probably what I will call her. My daughter is fine with that. She told me if I dont like the first name to call her Bailey. I call my son Tyler and Nickolas and he answers to both but his name is Nickolas Tyler. It may just take getting used to and then again she could be like me and have a completely different name picked out and then see the baby and decide she does not like that name for her. My daughter was not going to be Crystal until I actually saw her and decided the name I had chosen I did not like for her.

that is a really pretty way to spell it! Maybe you could sell her on that spelling Jessica? It just looks more feminine than Austin.

My son and his girlfriend have discussed what names they like for their future children, and I have to say I'm totally not a fan of them. For a girl, they picked Max. Yep, Max because she loves a book series that has a female character named Max. And for a boy, they picked Orion. So, I'm hoping they wait a long while and change their minds. LOL So, you totally have my sympathies, Jessica!

I kinda thouoght the same thing when I heard what my sister was naming her daughter. After her two favorite songs from the 80's- Rhiannon Luka. But now I love her name and think Rhiannon totally fits her. I could not imagine her being named anything else. And I considered Ruby for my daughter Crystal for awhile LOL. Not that it is a bad name just now thinking about naming her that does not fit her at all. And I know my husband's brother and his wife chose the name Olivia and then when they had their daughter after she was born changed their mind and named her Alicia.

I used to know an Orion, and he had a brother named Odin. I thought they were kind of cute, but IKWYM.

Austen or Austyn would be more feminine spellings. I'm a fan of feminine girl names, so I can't imagine. Nathan's kindergarten teacher named her baby girl Carson and I never "got" it. Bailey is cute too though

How exciting she's having a girl, have fun!!!!

A girl is so exciting! Congratulations! I love the name and I love the spelling Austyn for a girl. I'm a fan of unisex names with different spellings for girls; I have a Rylie.
