Default Talk to me about Classes

I've been digiscrapping for 6 (almost 7) years now. I'm interested in learning some new skills and/or refining my skills.

I've looked into classes at Scrapaneers and The National Association of Digital Scrapbookers.

Have you taken classes that you really liked? If so, where did you take the class?

Have you taken classes that you felt weren't worth the time or money? If so, what would you do differently?

Thanks!

I have never done any classes but I have to admit I would love to know how to wrap shadows.

I would love to hear about what classes others have done and how they feel about them.

I've taken a few classes from Creativelive & have enjoyed all those. Of course Scrapaneers is an amazing resource- I love the champions series- really makes me go outside my norm & I learn something new every month.

Digitalscrapper has classes about shadowing, creating clusters, organizing, blending, using actions, using fonts, and more. I've taken most of them and really have enjoyed them. Every once in a while they will have sales on their classes. They also have free tips/tricks on their blog.

I have taken a lot of the designer classes at Scrapaneers and really enjoyed them. And I learned a lot, especially from Traci Reed.

I have not taken many of the scrapping classes, but the few I did were worthwhile.

I have also taken some video classes from Shannon McNab on Skillshare. I like her teaching style a lot.

I learn best by watching people do things, so I prefer live classes where I can watch and ask questions. I really love to take photoshop classes because there is always to much to learn about Photoshop. LOL

Jessica Sprague has photoshop Friday classes. You can sign up for a membership or take a new class each week for free.

I love the Champions classes at Scrapaneers. I've also taken a Pen Tool class there that really helped me master that. I've taken a few photo editing classes and recently got a pen&tablet class that I want to start once I buy a tablet. LOL

I'm following this. Other than reading tutorials on shadowing and watching youtube videos (early in my learning), I've yet to take any classes.

Scrapaneers is changing over to "Scrapaneers' Society". Does anyone know how it will be different?

It's still Scrapaneers. They've moved to a new site and created the Society as a meeting spot for both new and old digi scrappers alike. I think they wanted a more community based move.
This is what their transition details says.

"We're making a big shift from a company focused on education first to a company that focuses on community first. We'll still provide education, of course. But our main goal is to build a community that supports your endeavors, your goals, your projects, your learning, and your needs related to digital scrapbooking. "

If you're into photograpny, KelbyOne is a good way to pick and choose classes to take. Huge library of LR and photoshop based classes. I started as a scrapbooker years ago but then shifted for several years to focus on photography. I love having beautiful photos and my husband likes them so much he doesn't mind that I occasionally buy expensive photography equipment and now that i"m scrapping again I have so many photos I love to scrap!

Thanks, Beckie! I'm more of a point & shoot kinda gal...now using my phone camera. I'm not very coordinated, so carrying a big, expensive camera around wasn't a safe option
Thankfully both my daughter & oldest son are fabulous photographers!

I took 31 Thing and 31 More Things by Ali Edwards and Message To My by Cathy Zielske. They're self paced classes. Merely I bought them but didn't participate in the forum, just did it on my onw while lurking in the gallery.
