Default Has anyone ever done Ali Edwards OLW class?

I'm just thinking about it. It's still open till 1/31. I'm worried that I'll have trouble focusing on my word this year because I've never done it, and that her ideas and such could keep me on track and learning and all that stuff. And give me more content for my PL album (which is all about me and not the family this time)

Anyone ever buy the class or thought about it?

I signed up once but didn't really follow through. That's not helpful, I know. Lol.

This is what I said on Facebook when someone asked about it (copying & pasting here):

I haven't taken it since it was offered at Big Picture Classes (2011/12/13) so I don't know what's changed but based on my experience, I'll say that while I liked the idea, it wasn't my favorite Ali class. It's definitely more of a journal class than a scrapbooking class - some of the prompts are literally like print out this 8.5x11 sheet I provided you and fill it in, which I didn't find all that inspiring.

I see she's now doing hers 6x8 which makes WAY more sense to me. The prompts assume you're using the same size/format she is and I could never figure out what in the world I was going to do with an 8.5x11 album about my word for the year, LOL!

All that's to say that if you've never done it, it might be worth it but yeah, not my fave class I've ever taken.

ETA: also I'm like Lydia and never finished the entire year so take that how you want, haha.

That is very helpful. Because I was kind of worried about the same things, so you both just confirmed it for me. I can usually do my projects/ideas on my own, but if you had said it was really awesome I would've kept considering taking it.

Lol if you're expecting a scrapbooking class, it's not exactly that, though you can scrapbook your album.

She's also only one month in, haha. January was always my favorite prompt too. Really if you're looking for a way to reflect on your word every month, it's good for that. If you're looking to reflect & craft at the same time, it's less good for that. I found other ways to approach my word that were a better fit for me but it may be perfect for you. All you can really do is try it and see.
