Never start a fight, but never back down from a challenge.

Eat your veggies

Always wear clean underwear

Mind your manners

When you hear music...dance.

My Mom is a little um...quirky? Fun, but quirky. Her advice? "Always be in bed by 11 and if you're not, come on home."

Definitely not what I'll be sharing with my kiddos!!

Wash behind your ears.

Don't do that with your face. It'll freeze that way.

Always have proper lighting when reading (that was a weird one from my Mom LOL)

My mom used to say "I'm not your referee!" when we were fighting and running to her to tell how bad and unfair the other one is. Of course I've sworn then to never say that to my kids. Which means I most likely will.

Oh, and "Just looking, no touching!" for shops.

hmm... the ones I have don't have clean language... like, "don't let them <bleep> on you!" Or "I brought you into this world, I can take you out it." I'll give you something to cry about...

Don't be a follower or a leader, be a individual!! (I say this one to my kiddo)
Trust in the Lord for he will guide you.
Life isn't fair and it's not a cirrus either. (this one is my grandpa's)
Don't ever lie... especially to your mother!
laugh before you cry...

I'm the Mommy, so you stop acting like the little mommy.
Act like a young lady/man.
Use your manners

If you fall down, get up, dust yourself off & try again, no matter what (also pertains to riding their horse, if you fall off, you get back on)

Mommy's always the boss!

I would give my daughter this kind of advice:

Be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate version of someone else. - Judy Garland

If God had wanted me otherwise, He would have created me otherwise. - Johann von Goethe

With every experience, you alone are painting your own canvas, thought by thought, choice by choice. - Oprah Winfrey

Your only obligation in any lifetime is to be true to yourself. - Richard Bach

What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

We become what we want to be by consistently being what we want to become each day.

The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be - Ralph Waldo Emerson

You should be nice to your sister some day your going to need her to keep her mouth shut.

No you can not have fruit snacks for breakfast.

You must take your pants off to use the potty.

Remember Lilly is a BABY. You have to watch out for her.

I heard this one at the swim club in the changing room today from another mom:

"Put your pants on before you put on your shoes!"

It was all I could do to not LOL!!!

*You can be friendly with everyone, but you don't have to be friends with everyone.

We tell our girls this all the time. The drama starts at such a young age.

My kids were always saying so-and-so can do this or go here so I would tell them "Am I their mom?"

Also they were famous for leaving the door open so Id ask "Were you born in a barn?" or
"Am I paying to air condition the outside?"

Were you born in a barn was one at our house too!

Let's see:

God never gives you more than you can handle.
We will love you no matter what, you're our daughter.
You can never have too much TV. (she stills says this!)
Always do art with your kids (retired art teacher)
If it's not one thing, it's your mother.
That which does not kill me makes me stronger.

2 things.

1. Mom is always right.
2. If mom is wrong, refer to #1.

"Keep it in your pants."

What? I have teenage boys.

I also tell them all the time...friends come and go, but you'll have each other for life.

And a bunch of other stuff about goals and success and things....

LOL From my (btw not...uhm...personal...) experience teenage boys hardly ever keep it in their pants. And if they do, then normally not because their mommy said so, but more for lack of opportunities.
