12-hour days...

That's what I worked this past week. 8 AM to 8 PM. I went in yesterday for a few hours, and I'm going in today. The kids start tomorrow and my media center still IS NOT FINISHED! It's hard being the only media specialist in an 1800 student K-8 school. I adore most of the people I work with, but there are a few who make me so angry. It's like they think that everything should be dropped to accommodate them and that I should be making textbook deliveries rather than them coming to the textbook storage room to pick up their textbooks. My days this past week were spent checking out materials to the teachers in our building (about 65 elementary classrooms and 30 middle school classrooms). I didn't get to do what I needed to do in the media center, like decorating, cleaning, rolling over the circulation database, shifting books since we added some new shelves over the summer, until after hours when the classroom teachers went home. I'm tired, I'm anxious because I'm still not finished, and I just want everything to be ready for tomorrow. Well, I better get moving so that I can get to school and put in a few hours today. I miss spending time here, and I am soooo ITCHING to scrap. I don't think I've opened PS since last weekend. After the first couple of days, things should calm down though. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

I feel you! Our students start Tuesday... funny how we have "work days" after meet-the-teacher nights and STILL never enough time to get it all done! We'll be scarce around here for sure And add to that I'm moving.... so yeah--- HIGH STRESS for awhile!

Hang in there! You CAN do it! I am starting the 3rd week of school today and I still feel a little behind but it has been getting easier. I scrap for hours yesterday to try to catch up some!
