Default what generations music do you miss?

I grew up in the 80's and listened to pop and country and gosh I sure miss the country music singers from the 80's and early 90's!! I was just listening to some of my favorites from back then today. So what are your favorite "oldies"? What generation do you think had the best music?

I wasn't even around during the 40's... but I *heart* the music from the war years...

I loved grunge rock! But I am always into the newest hard rock.

I love old Motown, I listen to it all the time.

Totally Miss late 80's/90's country.

I miss the mid to late 90's alternative too.

Contemporary Christian especially the "edgier" stuff(now)
late 80's to 90's rock
90's country if I'm in the mood for country

IN the car:
Veggie Tales - all that there is! One kiddo who is at that age, where there is no peace unless we are listening to his music. But he'll outgrow it, and I make him take turns with me occasionally.

that's a tough one. i'm so eclectic. i guess i identify most with 90's music; pop, rock and alternative. but i also grew up listening to my parents faves; Styxx, REO Speedwagon, Lynard Skinnard, Pink Floyd, Eagles....etc....lol. that era was great. REO and Styxx are my faves and on my iPod. i borrowed my moms cds, lol.

Like Rebecca, I love the war era sound..big band, swing, big singers...great music. But I also love 70's-early 80's art rock and miss it. Motown. I wish they could do Motown again (one reason I loved China Beach - the tv show - so much was for the soundtrack). Yep - those are my big 3 that I miss.

I like big band/swing from the 40s...50s/60s music is fun...and I grew up in the 80s listening to hair metal, which I still love. So yay for XM radio...I can listen to it all!

I have a pretty wide span of music faves but I'd have to go with early/mid 90's rock/grunge.
