Default Everyday Photo Ideas

I need some help. I am a believer in the concept of Project Life and documenting our lives. However, I realllllllllllllllllllly struggle in the summer. I have teens/young adults and our day goes like this:

I sleep late. By the time I wake up, my husband and my son are gone to work. I exercise and then pretty much sit and work on my computer (lesson planning for next year and scrapbooking) the whole day while my girls read or watch TV or go swimming. One of my girls leaves for work in the late afternoon. The men get home, we eat dinner. We watch TV (mostly DH... by then I'm done) and go to bed.

Repeat times five.

There are only so many pictures I can take of my dog, my Kindle, my laptop, my walk, my kids leaving for work and my dinner. I try to make sure we get out and do something -- anything -- on the weekends so I have some pictures but I'm struggling with the day to day. I don't always use a photo a day, but I always try to take a photo a day just so it's habit. Last night I literally went out in the rain and took a picture of a puddle just so I'd have a picture.

Anyone have any good photo challenges? Any places here I can see everyday photo lists? Maybe we need to get a photo challenge going or something. I need inspiration!

I would look to Pinterest for ideas...here are a few I found. I'll also add: I'm not a Project Lifer so someone else might have some really awesome ideas for you. LOL!

These two say they are links to downloads from Becky Higgins but the links are broken so IDK....

I have the Becky Higgin's PDFs. I should probably add that I'm on year 3 of doing this so I'm getting stale...

Thanks for the Katrina Kennedy tip. I just signed up for her emails. And it gives me a new site to explore...

If I were in your shoes, I think maybe I'd switch to 1 page layouts for weeks when not much was happening and when I didn't get too many weekend photos. Or maybe do a 2 page LO, but make 1 page an enlarged photo and the other a typical PL layout. If you do want to find more things to shoot, I'd look at some of the things that are constantly changing, like photos of the books people are reading and screen shots that show a You Tube video they're loving/scores for the games they're watching/song they're listening to, etc. With your daughter headed to college in the fall, maybe there will be shopping trips to buy supplies, looking through the course catalog, etc. Good luck!

FatMumSlim

I'm sure I found out about her lists from some nice lady here. She has some good lists and she has old lists posted too, so if the suggestion for a particular day doesn't work for you, you could choose something from a different year's list.

Oh, and you can sign up and she will e-mail the list for the month.

How about taking more selfies/family selfies or maybe switch to monthly instead of weekly? How about switching to larger pockets like (4) 6x6's or doing 6x12 with either (2) 6x6s or (3) 4x4's

I pocket scrapbook, but I don't do it on any sort of timeline. I do it because I have too many photos to catch up on. My twins are only 3 years old, so I'm constantly snapping photos of them. The year they were born I took over 2,000 photos so I have the opposite problem, I'm overwhelmed with photos. I feel like I will never catch up.
