Been awhile...need prayer!
Some of you may remember me from a few months ago when I had my miscarriage..I got pregnant again about 3 or 4 months later..well on Fathers Day I delivered my sweet Caleb at 24 weeks. We are 2 hours from home and I am literally sleeping on a couch in his NICU room. I am away from my oldest(who was also a preemie-28 weeks) and my husband which is breaking my heart..I am having a really hard time and just need alot of prayer!

Congratulations on your new baby, Caleb! I'm sorry the circumstances aren't better. I will put him and your family on my prayer list! I can't imagine going through having a preemie in NICU. Hang in there! We are here to talk whenever you need to!

((Hugs)) Congrats on your new son, but I'm sorry you're going through this again! Sending lots of P and PT. My cousin had twins around the same age. (I think they were 25 weekers). The first few years were rough, but they're turning 5 this month and are doing wonderfully.

Overall he is doing good. No brain bleeds. He did have a PDA that has closed but is now reopened a bit. He is on the oscillator vent which I do not like but his gas's have been really good while on it. He is up to 1lb 15 oz from 1 lb 9 oz. he has a staph infection but they caught it VERY early and started antibiotics ASAP. I am ready for him to get off the vent!! I want to hold him! They keep him sedated because of the vent.

Sending lots of positive thoughts your way. My sister's oldest boy was 1lb 9oz at birth, and today is his 29th birthday. You'd never know he was a preemie now!
Glad to hear that Caleb has gained some and I hope you're able to hold him soon. That must be so hard! (((HUGS))) |

Sending prayers your way - I can't imagine how hard this must but I am glad there are others who have shared your experience and had positive outcomes to share. Take care!

Both of my twins had the PDA and Drew wound up having surgery for it. Colin had a brain bleed that was so severe and he wound up passing away. I know what you mean about the oscillator vent- Drew HATED it. Im so glad they caught the staph infection! Drew wound up getting NEC and fortunately they caught it just in time- he only had a drain put in right above the hole in his intestine and it was able to heal on its own. I didn't realize until we were out of hte NICU just how perilous that could have been. If they had of caught it just hours later he could have wound up with an ostomy or even worse- could have died from it. Its so scary just how much these micropreemies have to overcome in the NICU.
