journal challenge: include a letter to someone on your page
This was an easy challenge for me since I wanted to put into words for my son how proud we are of him. I hope that he looks back on this one day and knows how we felt.

#4 Journal Challenge: Include a letter to someone on your page - It's been awhile since I've written a milestone page for baby boy, so I figured I would do one in the form of a letter to him.

#1: Inspired by SSD's little book of Ideas: seasons.

Juli mentioned how fall for her family means football. For our family, it means hours out on the soccer fields. We eat, sleep and breathe soccer 11 months out of the year. Fall time is the start of the new season...new teams, new friends and lots of new memories!

In this picture, Derek still managed to have a smile on his face...even after watching/playing many soccer games that weekend. He is taking a little break from the sun, hiding under his little shelter he made!

#9 - Turn back time: use a photo that is over 5 years old. I really want to go back and scrap our wedding photos (which were before digital photography and not even all scanned in to my computer!) But I haven't made it a priority yet, and this bingo square + this new kit made me at least scrap a couple of photos

This layout works for two different challenges--#21: You're So Square and #9: Turn Back Time

I've had these photos sitting on my hard drive waiting to be scrapped since 2009. They are some of my favorite photos, and I always get scrappers block when I'm trying to scrap the photos that I love the most. Using the "squares" challenge helped me break through and get these photos scrapped.

#21 - You're So Square

I've had this photo sitting on my EHD for the last couple of months but I was drawing a blank as to how I wanted to scrap it. The memory behind it is cute but the photo itself is overexposed & badly composed with a bright red wall in the background. I thought this kit of Amber's would draw on that red plus add some orange and purple, too, in fun pops of colors with the paper squares. Hopefully, the fun colors & patterns balance out the so-so photo.

#17 : Scrap Therapy...
I often find it cathartic to just allow my emotional thoughts to spill onto a page. It feels good to put the words out there, and then try to let them go.
