!!!ZUMBA!!!

:thumbup: I just took my very first Zumba class and man did it kick my butt but I LOVED it! :w00t:

I'm so excited because our YMCA started having the classes and also because my DD who used to be scared to death to go into the child care (not just at the Y but anywhere) finally goes in and enjoys herself! Soooo, I can workout again at the Y!!!!!!!

OK, just wanted to share my excitement! I really really liked the Zumba class though! Has anyone else taken it?

I don't think I have heard of Zumba?! But congrats on doing well with it and your DD doing well with daycare!

OMG! You'll LOVE IT! It's everywhere too, I believe! So, if you go to their website and click on Find A Class you can put your zip code in and it will bring up all the local classes! I was just glad that our YMCA started them because at all the other ones in my area there is no child care.

That looks totally fun! I wish they had something like that around here - my neighbor and I are going to go take some sort of class, we were thinking belly dancing.

Looks like FUN! Might have to try it when they don't offer it in a gym. I looked it up and right now they only offer it in Bally or Nautilus.

Interesting! They offer a class at my gym on Friday nights. Maybe I'll check it out this week!

I wouldn't lie to ya babe! It was TOTALLY FUN and not one bit intimidating!! I am serious!

Being honest here...I was SO scared to go! I mean, geesh, I had my mommy and cousin go with me today to take the class (ooops, did I forget to mention that part earlier??!! - ROFLMBO)! My mom and I are both VERY out of shape because we have been slacking on working out!

My mom, like me, had never been to a Zumba class. My cousin works out every single day and has been in advanced belly dancing classes and what-not for a long time. She has taken Zumba classes at the other local rec centers around here and told me how fun they were but she warned me that it IS a workout but fun as ever! So, for her to say that it was hard, yeah, I felt like maybe I shouldn't go but she told me "NO NO NO NO NO - there are all types of people in the classes that do it at their own pace, blah blah blah"

Well, I bit the bullet and did it and was SOOOO happy that I did! I think this will be something I can actually stick to! My mom was nervous too but she even got through it! We had tons of fun! And the instructor from today's class did more of the latin-type moves. We talked to her after class and my cousin mentioned that the classes she took elsewhere did more hip-hop. And the instructor told us since this is new (at the YMCA) that she was going to stick to (somewhat similar) routines for the next 4 weeks then start working in some other routines!

I dunno, I def. recommend it and think that it is a super fun way to get a DANG GOOD workout! You def. won't leave there dry though! LOLOLOLOL!

I did a Zumba/cardio dance class at my Y for a couple of year. It was totally fun!

Oh cool! I've never heard of it but it looks like my local Y offers it too- might have to check that out! I definitely need to vary my exercise from just doing my elliptical lol

I did my 2nd class on Saturday morning and I'm still loving it! I plan on going on Tuesday mornings (and possibly at night that same day - yeah twice in one day - i'm nuts) and then Friday morning and Saturday morning! Did you sign up yet Lizzy????

no, i suck!! i really want to go. there is a drop in class 4 mins from my house on tues night. i have it scheduled in my phone...i will go!!
