i have just found an squelched a major and expensive problem. we were gone for the weekend and i just found my big freezer door part ways open!! i have some stuff that has to be thrown out but most of it is salvagable, but going to have to be cooked now. i have about 20-30 pounds of hamburger, 5-10 pounds of sausage, 9 packages of minute steaks, and some roasts. help me with ideas on what to do with all of this so it can be refroze!!! it is all good and still very cold and partways frozen but not all the way. what a freaking mess!!!!

what do i do with the minute steaks and then stew meat???

Oh man!!! I'm so sorry to hear that! That's happened to me before, so I know how upsetting it is.

I don't have any ideas really except that I have a friend who will brown her hamburger and then freeze it. So when it's ready to put in a recipe, she just has to microwave/defrost it. So maybe you could go ahead and brown some of it and just put it in zipper bags or throw-away containers and refreeze.

You could just cook the roasts and refreeze them. Then when you want to eat one, you can put it in the crock pot.

For the sausage and ground beef, just cook it and refreeze it. Then it's ready for when you need to use it.

that's what i am doing with the roasts and most of the hamburger, but i am doing meatballs too since we like those :)

my main problem is the chicken fries and stew meat. i normally bread and fry my chicken fries, yeah i know not healthy but we like it :P so now what do i do with those?

so i am trying to make this funny since i am really mad and not happy. so far i have made 1 lb of taco meat, 3 plain pounds, 2 packages of chicken fries and a batch of meatballs. anyone wanna come and eat??

the meat balls are a great idea. What about some hamburger patties as well.

for the chicken fries I would cut them into smaller pieces and brown them up. I use chicken like that all the time. On salads, in pasta, well almost everything I guess LOL
