I was in the middle of a test at school when my husband called. He was at fire marshal school and the news came on. Apparently OUR CHILDRENS SCHOOL IS IN LOCK DOWN!!! They found ammunition for a 22 caliber in the high school. So I ditched my test and headed home. The twins are in Kindergarden. Thier teacher called and said I could come up to the school to get them. So I have them in my arms. My 5th and 8th grader are on the bus home, for the past hour and a half, and we live 2 minutes from the school. My Amanda is a freshman. They are not sure when they will dismiss High School since that is where the ammunition is and they haven't found the weapon yet. I feel sick.

Oh my goodness, that is so scary!! I can't even imagine what you're feeling right now. Hugs and prayers for you and your kiddos!!

Lordy Day...Stay Calm hon...although I'm not really sure how that would work for me.
I will be thinking of you till your babies are home safe.

Aww hugs honey...I know it must be scary, but I know it's going to be alright!!! Keep us posted when your oldest gets home!!! Sending postivie thoughts your way!!!!

Oh that is scary!! I am so sorry you have to go through this! I know it is easier said than done, but try to remain calm and think positive! Sending lots of positive thoughts your way!! Please, please let us know when all your kiddos have made it home safe!

My kids are saying that they heard shots before the lockdown. My four year old says she was scared of getting shot because the announcement said that someone had a gun in the school. Still no Amanda.

I am so sorry you have to worry like this. Keep in mind that kids have great imaginations, thinking of you and hopeing you daughter comes home soon.

My 13 year old said that shots were heard. I texted my sister in law who is a teacher there, she said there definately were shots fired before the assistant principle found the ammunition on the floor.
Still no Amanda

Oh that just makes it scarier!! I hope Amanda gets home soon!! I am so sorry girl!

oh, I know that must be very scary, hon. We had a lock-down here at one point but it turned out to be a non-event. Hope Amanda gets home soon!!!

Oh, wow, that is scary! It's insane our kids have to go through this kind of stuff. Sending good thoughts your way!

I was going to say stay calm, but I know if it were me I'd be going nuts. Prayers for you daughter and strength and sanity for you. Hugs.

Amanda is home. She is crying. They patted down EVERY student. They had to leave everything at school. But she is home safe. Thank you for sticking with me and praying for us.

OMGosh that is very scary. We have had that more then once here. Only we didnt find out until well after the kids were home. Once I only found out because my son told me about it. Im sure everything will be fine but totally understand the panic. Do your kids have cells that they can text/call from? Or maybe a friend who they could use their phone? I know it is not allowed from a school but in these circumstances it is understandable

So glad all your little chicks are home safe!!! Hung them tight and don't let go for a while today!!!

Extra hugs for your oldest and what a nightmare to have to go through!!!!

I had a situation similar to this but not quite as scary...it could have been worse but thankfully everything was taken care of. I am sorry you are going through this, I kinda know how you feel and it is the scariest thing EVER!!! {{{HUGS}}}

OMG, that's so scary...for your children and for you! (((hugs))) Glad all of your kids are safe and in your arms, though!
