I'm So Mad at Myself...

So this afternoon I decided it would be a good idea to switch around the kids' closets so that fall/winter clothes would be front and center. First mistake. I started with Caroline's closet because...well...girl clothes are funner. :p Second mistake. I start going through her summer stuff and I found at least a dozen little tees and tanks WITH THE TAGS STILL ON. :| Not cool. As little as she is, she may be able to use them next year, but how could I be so dumb? That makes me so mad at myself.

Anyone else mess up with your kids' clothes?

BTW, I never did Ryan's. I was afraid of what I may find.

I usually have a box on a shelf in the kids' closets where I keep the gift clothes that relatives have sent that don't fit yet. I can't tell you the number of times that I've finally remembered to go through it only to find that my kid has outgrown outfits in there!

I've done it - not recently because the boys go through clothes like crazy and Destiny - I had to downsize hers because we only have her every other weekend and we used to have her more.

Oh yup, I've had similar experience. So now I try not to buy clothes too ahead of time. :p

If you aren't going to have more kids, I'd sell them in the spring on ebay. At least you'd get some cash out of it!

My kids ONLY have summer clothes, and they all come from my mom with the tags already removed so I don't have to pay taxes on them, lol. So, no, I've never had that problem. But I DID order some clothes from Old Navy in MARCH that STILL don't fit my kids, and when I was goign through their too big clothes the other day, I realized that I don't have the sweater vest that goes with the outfit for one kid. :( NO IDEA where it went, and he's never even worn it.

Doing that this week. I know somewhere in the attic is a container filled with 4T boy clothes. Lance needs some jeans that come down to his ankles. He does not look good in capris.

I am bad for taking Amelia's clothes and packing it up for Rae (they are only 22 months apart, but Rae is a mite compared to Amelia) only to dig it out way too late, and having to go buy more clothes for her because they are now off season from each other. Irritating!

That happened to me just a few days ago. I was organizing her closet and found a bunch of cute 2T tank tops that I had forgotten about. Since she is still in that size, but it is now cold outside, I am determined to get our use out of them and I am using them for pajamas :D

Sigh, its happened. And my DD is only 10 months old. Just the other day I pulled out a pair of jammies that my mom bought for her, washed them, and tried them on. The legs are too short, and the waist is too big so they are always falling down. She is skinny & super long though.

Note to self. Don't buy footed jammies. Ever. Gotcha.

I use too espcially when it was just my oldest (she's 10), but I have gotten so much better about not impluse buying ahead of season!!

I'm horrible about doing this exact thing. My girls are 2.5 years apart and were born in different seasons but it's worked that they grew differently and the younger one can wear the older one's hand-me-downs. But I'm famous for missing a tote of clothes and not finding them until 1. she's already outgrown them or 2. it's the wrong season for them. It's so frustrating! :cursing:

living in florida we really dress the same year round. It is no big deal to wear shorts all year (with the exception of maybe 10-12 days a year) and I cant tell you when I last wore anything other then flip-flops. So we dont really have that problem. Now that my daughter is buying alot of her own clothes she does have stuff she buys then doesnt wear but it isnt my money so I do not worry about it.
