Hair Products for Children's Hair

Okay, so all the "hair" posts have got me wondering why I never asked all of you before now....LOL My Granddaughter is biacial....She has the most beautiful cork screw curls BUT in the back of her head her hair tends to get "nappy"....

Please can anyone tell me what my daughter can use to help with the nappiness and to help define the curls, making her hair manageable? Thanks for any help....
 
I use to use this garnier fructius leave in conditioner stuff for my niece (same hair).. it worked really really well on her curls :)
 
I am mixed and if she has hair that is "nappy" she needs to use hair products specifically made for African Americans. My son's hair, who had Beautiful ringlets when he was a baby, gradually became "nappy" as he got older. Maybe that won't happen to your GD. I haven't used this product yet but I plan on purchasing some as soon as I can.

The past few years I have literally spent hundreds of dollars in trying to get my curls to be pronounced and beautiful. Nothing has worked.:thumbdown: Now I just put a relaxer in my hair.
 
Jessi, Thank you so much for your reply....My daughter said she may have to learn to braid her daughter's hair....We really do think that her hair is going to end up being nappy as she gets older because of the back of her head....I can't wait until she is older so my daughter can have a relaxer put in her hair....LOL
 
I am biacial and I use Pantene hair creme in my hair. I have naturally curly hair and after I wash it, I put the creme in and my hair becomes instantly curly(er), shiny and manageable!

I wash my hair (use lots of conditioner!) and comb it out with a wide tooth comb and then put the creme in...

Sam, Thank you so much for the information....I think my daughter will try using the Pantene to see if it will help make a difference....Meanwhile I'm gonna do a search online for video's or books w/pictures to teach her how to braid....:)

Oh sorry hun didn't realize she was that young! They do have Styling products. I wouldn't recommend something like a relaxer at her age by no means!! :thumbdown: They are way to strong for young kids! Something like their gels or conditioners would be good. Mizani is a professional line sold by salons only. I know for sure Regis salons like Trade Secret sell them.
