So... they're doing fire alarm inspections today between 9 and 5 and I'm so stressed out. They feel since they warned us last night, that's ample warning time. I don't care that they're inspecting the fire alarms, what I do care about is, if I'm not at the door the second after they knock, they just enter. It's like a hotel housekeeper's courtesy knock. Well... this isn't a freakin' hotel, this is a home, I might be getting dressed, or trying to take the baby off the boob, or any number of things, plus... I'm a woman home alone with two very small children - having someone barge in on me is very disconcerting.
Add this to the "my toddler is a light sleeper and they can't come during naptime" clause and you can see why I'm stressed out about today. It's 9 now, I'm fixing to post a "Enter at the risk of your own health" sign out... I'm actually going to tell them to have some freakin' patience, I'll answer the door myself. And unlike a hotel room, we're not allowed to have a chain on the inside of our door. :cursing:
ETA: I just put a sign on the front door that reads, "I am a breastfeeding mother. Do NOT enter with your key, I will open the door for you. Have some PATIENCE."
I have little hope that they will read it, even though it's on a white board, hanging from the screen door handle.
