check out the moon tonight

I dont know if it is this way everywhere but my daughter got me to go outside tonight and there is a huge ring around the moon. It is pretty cool to see. Id take pictures but I have no tripod and dont think I could capture it well enough without one to show what I mean. If you go outside right now though you should be able to see it too

Im sorry you couldnt see it. It was pretty cool. It looks like it is mostly gone now because I just went back outside again. I did a google search and it said it is from a refraction of moonlight (or something like that LOL) It just looked like a large ring that surrounded the entire moon but it was really far away from the moon not like right next to it. I wonder if anyone else did take pictures. Gonna do a quick search to see if I can find a photo.

I saw it too Jessica! It was weird! I'm in Oregon.

The old tale here in the South is that however many stars are inside that ring, that's the number of nights you have until it rains.
