Extreme home makeover makes me weepy

I really hope that this show and it's "stars" are as genuine as they appear on the screen ... cause man, Ty Pennington must have a heart of gold if they are. I just watched a two hour special and it left me all weepy. Well honestly rarely do I NOT cry during an episode , but this family was just so genuinely grateful and they wanted to make sure that other people affected (it was a flood in New Hampshire in 2006) got some help too, not just themselves. I bawled like a baby and all I can think is how HOT that makes Ty. LOL. He's like such a little kid and always makes me smile ... I loved him way back when I watched Trading Spaces in the beginning and I love the direction his career has taken him. he's just adorable yaknow? LOL

I totally love Ty. I don't like EHM though. But I loooooves Ty and I heard from a friend that he IS as genuine in person as he appears. *swoon*

i ADORE Ty. he is such a sweetie and it does make him hot!

but its sort of wierd cause my younger brother's name is Ty, lol.

Oh yes - we get that over here in the UK and he makes me weep. Makes me weep at the thought of what he could do to me too iykwim

I love that show and usually cry every time I watch it! I tried to work at that house in NH. I got turned away both times because they had enough volunteers. From feedback I heard from people there they think it's totally genuine.

They were here in Connecticut a few weeks back. This house in Voluntown, which is about 10 minutes from my husband's firehouse, burned. The family lived in a camper on the property. The house was in forecloseure. So the day before they were supposed to relinquish the house to the bank, the family went to the lake in town. The father drowned and the oldest son tried to save him. He drowned too.
So, when my husband came home from work and told me that his firehouse was asked to participate in the makeover, I was not schocked. He was not able to work because he was completing his Fire Marshall school. But many of his co-workers did.
They said that Ty is like a bulldog. He barks out orders and really cracks the whip. But they also said he is a really great guy. I guess if you are in charge of getting it all done in a week, you have to be a bulldog. Because, really? who else's name is riding on it? Do we even know the other team members last names?

EHM doesn't make me weepy. I makes me BAWL. DH and I watch it most sundays and we both cry every.single.time.
And, yes, I think Ty is a very genuine guy considering he's in the entertainment industry.

I love the responses here.I hate it when I fall for someone and find out later they are a jerk I have a friend that has met Kenny Chesney and swears he is a TOTAL A**hole, I just put my head in the sand and refuse to believe that one, lol. But I really in my heart wanted to believe that not just Ty but the whole concept of the show is genuine. I cant' even fathom losing my house, my husband and my son like that Heather. i wonder when that show will air?

I don't watch it anymore just because I sob through it. That gives me a headache, so I stopped watching it. I've always loved Ty - good for him for being so successful!

They project it will air in March. My husband and I went to the Super Walmart in Lisbon, which is right down the road from Voluntown. So we drove by. It looks like a castle. It is so beautiful. There are solar panels in the yard.
I was at school and someone was like "wow, they are so lucky" I was totally like, "lucky??? Fire... Foreclosure.. loss of husband/father..and son/ brother. Yup they are lucky" How can that woman ever sleep? They were married for 20 some odd years.How can you even feel good when you have lost that much???
On the Kenny Chesney note, a few years back, when he was married to Renee Zelweiger, they bought a house in Pomfret. That is about 2 towns from me. And the house they bought was my ex- boyfriends parents house. I heard he was pretty arrogant. He was kind enough to invite the State police to a cookout after they arrested one of his employees for robbing him though.

Oh I watch EHM any chance I get and it ALWAYS makes me cry!! There's so much crap on TV nowadays that it's so nice and refreshing to see a show that makes such a positive difference in people's lives. And yes, I have a major crush on Ty. The fact that he seems so sweet and genuine makes him that much more appealing!!

I cry watching some episodes. Down here we´re far on the seasons, I think they are airing the 3rd or 4th season. I watched one a few days ago that I had to turn the tv off because I couldn´t stop crying !
I went to Ty's site one day and wrote a message thanking him for all the good things he and the design team were doing for those families. He rocks !
