DD Broke Her Leg This Weekend

My poor little girl! I feel so badly for her.

We had company over for dinner on Saturday night and the kids got fartin' around, jumping too high on the trampoline (we're not used to having older kids on it) and she must have gotten double-bounced or something and landed the wrong way. :( The rule is, no more than 2 on at a time, but my kids are all small and can't bounce too much, KWIM? I know it was just the two kids, my DD (5.5yrs.) and my friends DD (15yrs.), but we weren't there to see exactly what happened.

So we spent all day yesterday in ER. She's got a clean break, just below the growth plate. They put a temporary cast on it, until they're sure that it's set and healing properly and then they'll put a "real" cast on it next week.

She can't walk on it at all until she gets the real cast. No school this week and possible next. We had to withdraw her registration for softball this spring. We were going to buy her a new bike this week. :(

However, she won't have to unload the dishwasher or put her laundry away for a while and she's happy about that. Not to mention the quality time she'll be spending with her Nintendo DS this week! ;)

Ah, just another page to add to the scrapbook.

Oh no! Poor thing! DS fell out of his crib at age 2 and broke his arm..it was a nightmare at that age, but at least she's a little older..still, a lot for a little one to deal with :( A lot for you too huh?

Oh no, what an ordeal!
We went through a horrible year with my oldest a few years ago. She broke her knee right ON the growth plate, behind her kneecap after a bike accident. After that was healed she fell out of her brothers top bunk while sleeping and broke both arms.
She couldnt feed herself, go to the bathroom alone or bathe for 3 months. She couldn't even go to school and so the school sent a tutor out to the house. It was a mess.
Here's hoping it's easier on you than it was on us!

Oh how awful! Poor kid!

You know what's funny...I've grown up without a single broken bone (not including my pinky toe) and 2/3 of my own kids have broken something!
DS broke his arm last year, just before he turned 2yrs., fell off the couch and landed the wrong way. Now Livia with her broken leg.

They must take after their Dad! LOL

Poor little thing! Benjamin got a spiral fracture just above his ankle around this time of year when he was just over 2 years old. He was in a full leg cast up to his hip for 3 weeks, and I had to carry him everywhere...boy he was heavy!

Hope she heals quickly!!!!

aww that sucks!! My son broke both his arms last year in March. He was 10 at the time. Horrible experience all around. Hope hers heals quickly and she wont have to much pain from it!!

poor girl. :( Hope she heals fast for you!

Abby broke bones in her foot in October 2 years ago... had to carry her everywhere.. that was a mess.

I have 2 of those kind of pages...my DD (almost 7) broke her left arm twice. Once when she was 20 months going down the stairs and once when she was almost 4 climbing over a baby gate. She's so accident prone, a CPS woman had to come to the house and talk to us after she fell and had to get stitches in the back of her head. Oh, and her front teeth were knocked out when she was 3 going up the stairs. We're still waiting for those to come in. LOL

Sorry your DD got hurt. :( I'm sure she'll be back to normal in no time! Sometimes the kids act as if they have no cast on them at all!
