I get home today from running errands and stuff and there was a package on my doorstep. I knew I hadn't ordered anything recently so I figured it was something DH had ordered. I come inside, open it up and GUESS what was inside?!!!!

A BRAND-SPANKING NEW SPEEDLIGHT 430 EXII!!!! AND ALSO A REMOTE FOR MY XTI!!!!!!

I am just over the moon! I had mentioned it to DH a few weeks ago that I was really wanting one and hoping he'd take the hint for my b-day last week...well he DID it was just backordered and took an extra week to get here!!!

I am SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Ooooh that is exciting!!! I love new toys :wub:...how sweet that your hubby did that. CONGRATS on the new goodies!!
 
I'll freely admit I had no clue what those were and I had to ask someone,lol. I have a fancy little point and shoot canon, what the heck would I know,lol.
How sweet your dh paid attention.
 
Woo hoo!!! What a great surprise gift!!! I am currently saving for a speedlite (haven't decided which one yet) so I can appreciate what a great gift you got!

Had to share some of my first pics...It'll take me a while to figure out what settings to use but I love these shots soo much better than just bumping up the ISO etc...

This last one I took in a nearly dark room and only had to fix the exposure a little after I pulled it from my camera! she was just waking up from a nap lol :)The poor little thing is probably half blind I've been flashing her with the camera all afternoon...Avery finally said, "mama, that's enough pictures" lol :)

I have the 580 and LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hint ... use rechargable batteries and not reg. batteries. They work better. ;)
