OT: Facebook Settings

Does anyone know if there is a way to appear invisible to people when you're on Facebook? Its not been a problem in the past, but I recently started being "stalked" by an acquaintance.

Every.Single.Time I get on facebook (which is a lot since its one of my set tabs in firefox) she's right there wanting to chat. And frankly, I have a lot better things to do that chat endlessly to this girl all the time.

So, anyone know how to change my settings? I'm tired of living in fear of being on Facebook for more than 2 minutes.

the chat? just click it to offline on the bottom under options in the chat.. it'll stay offline when you sign back in etc. I have mine offline permanently to my full friends list-- and can go on and off to my peeps list if i neeeeeeed to talk to someone- lol but that hasnt happened yet

eta i just clicked mine and have no idea how i made it so its only my peeps list.. hmm

Thank you!! I was also being stalked by a guy from high school. And I need to be on FB for work, so I hated leaving myself open like that. Whew!

I am pretty sure you can divide your friends into lists and then only appear offline to certain groups... once you have your lists made (under your normal friends window), then you can just slide the little offline thing over in the chat window.

yep, this has been sooo helpful for those random high school stalkers i haven't seen in fifteen yrs.
