When we got married, I knew without a doubt that I’d be a Marine wife for
years and years. You were career military, and I was okay with that. But
your body had different ideas, and it was only a couple years into our
marriage when you were medically discharged. Welcome to the real world!
Civilian life was not easy! And with the looming recession, we weren’t sure
we were going to make it. But we did our best. The years went by, and it became
evident that the skills you leaned in the Marine Corps just wasn’t going to
work anymore with your broken body. Enter in a new career and new chapter
in our life. The new up-an-coming jobs seem to be anything in the renewable
energy industry. And wind turbines are right there with the growing fad. So you
looked in to changing vocations through the VA. It took a while to get it all started,
and money became tighter and tighter. Our lowest moments as husband and wife
took place during that year, but it got done. You started school, and we trudged
along, praying that this was the right move. I don’t know yet if it was the right move,
but I do know I’m so very proud of you. In only a week, you will graduate and be
an official wind turbine technician. I’m not sure where we’ll end up (Texas seems
to be the most likely) but here’s to the next chapter; our newest adventure!
