I am looking to stop paying monthly for photoshop. Does anyone use Affinity? If so, how do you like it for scrapbooking?
That is the only thing I use photoshop for.

I took a beginner's workshop on using the Affinity Photo program in January at a forum I frequent that caters to Paint Shop Pro. The owner is adding Affinity to the forum as it is unclear as to how long Paint Shop Pro will be supported. I currently use Paint Shop Pro but decided to jump into Affinity so that if something happens and I can't use my PSP any more, I will be able to continue scrapping.
Then in February, that forum had another workshop (creating a magazine) and I did it using Affinity Photo. Well, I actually did 2 magazines since I also did one in Paint Shop Pro. I found some things easier to do in PSP and some things easier to do in Affinity.
There is a scrapbooker that hangs out at The LilyPad that uses Affinity. She makes video tutorials for scrapping and puts them on YouTube.

I like Digitalscrapbook.com for tutorials and they had one about affinity here - https://www.digitalscrapbook.com/forums/digital-scrapbooking/tutorials/affinity-photo-tutorial-using-swatches-and-the-shape-tool
I think it's a great swap, but you may miss some of the bells and whistles of photoshop. Hopefully people will jump in here that they use Affinity too.

It all depends on if you use all the bells & whistles in PS (or for me in PSP). I basically want to be able to use a template, add photos, papers and elements. Add some text and shadows and I have a layout. Affinity can do all that wonderfully. The tools may have different names but basically do the same thing.
The forum I'm on has a blog and she is now adding blog posts about Affinity. Just this week she added one on "lifted shadows (https://scrapbookcampus.com/2025/03/lifted-shadows-in-affinity-photo/)". And, as I said before, there are now several workshops on that forum just for Affinity. Cassel also posts the upcoming workshops in the forums at DigitalScrapbook.com.

I started with Photoshop but now use Affinity. I never thought I would give up Photoshop but I love scrapping on my iPad. I have the full Affinity suit and have it on both my ipad and laptop. I still don't know everything but I have figured out enough to get my pages done. I do miss using some of my styles though. I do hope that Affinity will be able to read Photoshop styles at some point. This looks like a great Affinity class at Pixels to Pages (https://www.pixelstopages.com/comingsoon) and there are also some tutorials at https://www.youtube.com/@ToucanScraps

I was a PSE gal but made the switch to Affinty photo on my ipad. I totally love that I can scrap anywhere and I’m not lugging a Laptop around to do it. Affinity photo for computer and for ipad are different though.
