No, not a baby (although I have been going through a baby fever stage) but a kitten!!! We have never had a kitten (I only had one when I was younger and in highschool).
My friend got an 8 week old kitten and I actually was shocked to hear that she did considering what type of dog she has. It's a hunter and was looking at this kitten like it was a treat which scared the heck out of me. Sooo...when she brought it home her husband told her they couldn't keep it because of the dog. So she was sad about that but started to find it a home. In the meantime the stories changed and she wanted to get rid of it because she was scared about the dog killing it but the husband wanted to keep it saying he thought the dog was getting used to it and they tried walking out of the room leaving the cat and dog alone (and it happened to be fine). Well, I got a call early this morning that the dog almost got a hold of it and I told her that we could take it. The only problem now is the kitten will be in a safer environment BUT we aren't sure how my husband (with BAD allergies, but not sure to what) will handle it. He said we can't keep it if his allergies get really bad with it. And my kids, I have never had them around cats for a long period of time so we aren't sure if they will be allergic. But we are going to take a stab at it and try to keep it! :) I've wanted a cat for so long! I get to pick her up at 4 pm!! YAY!
She doesn't have a name so any suggestions are welcome! :) Here are some pictures:

Well, for some reason in these pictures the kitten looks a lot bigger. She told me the kitten was 8 weeks old, but who knows how true that is? I wonder if the vet would know from looking?

The vet could probably tell you an estimate. The kitty does look bigger in the photos, but her face looks young.

She's adorable! I hope for you that you'll be able to keep her! The vet will definitely be able to tell you how old she really is. She looks big but, as Paula said, her face looks like a baby one! I wasn't a cat type of girl until we got our first one with DBF... then I got addicted!! LOL

She is adorable!
I am allergic to cats and I have had up to 3 indoor cats at once, so it can be done. The one thing you want to make sure of, to keep down allergins is - no cats on the beds. We just shut up the bedrooms or only leave the door open if we are in there & toss the cat off if it jumps on. Vacuum often and with a HEPA filter. We had 3 cats for 9 years & the only time my allergies were really bad with them was if they snuck in the bedroom and slept on the bed without me knowing it & then I get in bed after they left, or if I got lazy & didn't vacuum for a week.

We just got a new one at our house a couple of weeks ago. We named ours Sasha. Actually Kim came up with the name and we thought it was a perfect name for a kitty. Hope you are able to keep her. We are loving having our new addition.

Well, my daughter has been calling her Lucy ever since I mentioned it. She loves that name since she recently saw Narnia.
I'm still hoping to keep her but last night was the first night to have her in the house and my poor son woke up with what I thought was a bad cold. His eyes were crusty his nose had green snot and he was coughing. BUT, I didn't realize it and let the kitten on their bed and also let her sleep in a carrier in their room. So, we are going to try to keep her from going upstairs (which is the only place we have carpet) and also not let her sleep in the bedrooms or go on beds!
I took her to the vet today and she got a clean bill of health. My cousin said she could possibly take her if I absolutely can't keep her. My cousin has 2 other cats (one older with diabetes) so she isn't sure how much stress it would put on the older cat. We shall see! I really really hope my son gets better (and that my husband doesn't get worse) because I really really want a cat!!!

Soooo cute! I have 2 of my own, I use to be allergic to them, but I acutally get use to them. Try keeping them around for a while, unless it's so bad DH and kids can't take it anymore.
I'm so not good with girl names right now. I have 3 DDs and just named
2 female pups! Only thing that comes to me is Tatum (or Tate) or Taran.
