Does anyone know of an action for this? I have a layer mask action but don't know how to use it.

I just got the newest (sorry, but crappy) issue of Digital Scrapbooking and I want to do the thingy where you make the text part of your photo (page 63) and it says to create a clipping mask which, if I am correct, you can't do in PSE5. I know Meg made some for one of the challenges but I want to make my own...

Anyone? TIA!!!!

Try typing your text put and then simplify the layer- right click the layer and choose simplify. Then you need to put your photo layer over the text. Hit ctrl+G. That will make a clipping mask. You can resize the photo layer as needed and when you have it exactly as you want it merge the 2 layers.

I don't have the magazine so I am not sure it this is the look you are going for.

I would make a shape above the text and merge those. The do the clipping mask.

I think I would do what Amanda says. :)

I would just duplicate the photo and put it above my text layer and group them (ctrl g) :)
