to poop in the same room I am in! behind my back, literally (ha ha almost typed "litterally.")
not in litter box of course.
just tried chasing her down so that I could put her in litter box. 2 month old kitty much faster than overweight almost 40yo digi scrapper. would be comical if happening to someone else.
at least it's not behind the entertainment center. guess the foil blockades are working there.
cannot figure out though where she is peeing? disturbing . . .

Ack, how irritating!!! can you cover your whole house in foil? :D
Sorry, I don't know what to tell you, my kitty just went to the box right away, I'm glad I didn't have to show him anything.

uggh
I hate cats since my latest one. He pees everywhere. Do you have access to a cage? When I worked at the pet store, the best way to train the babiest of kittens was to put them in a big ferret cage with a litter box (not as much space to run around and forget where the litter box is.
Also, this might sound inconvenient now, but move the litter box to where she pooped... once she starts using it, slowly move it closer back to where you want it.

Can you keep her in a bathroom with her litter box for now?
I had a cat that did this and it never stopped until we gave her back to where we got her from. No way I would go through that again.

okay, so how long do I confine kitty to solitary? all day long? until she goes?
I suspect she will poop right next to litter or something evil like that.
all you cat owners who did not have to deal with this -- I am happy for you. really.

oh i hate it when that happens... i potty-trained my kitten by keeping them up in the bathroom (where the litter box is) for three days, i let them play outside for an hour or two everyday and feed them and everything in the bathroom. after that they ALWAYS go to the litter box wherever we put them. hehe.

nope. but if she keeps this up I just may put her food bowl INTO the kitty litter.
anyway, i think she is a dog. got cardboard scratchy thing for her that came with catnip. catnip had no effect on her. well maybe catnip too old. is it bad to give catnip to kittens? is that like giving crack to babies?

LOL, but sadly, yes, I was thinking of making a blog about new kitty (who is now called Poopstink). then remembered i have hard enough time updating my own blog.

We had to shut one of our cats up when they were a kitten until they figured out the litterbox. We put the box at one end of the utility room and his food bowl at the other. We'd let him out when we could remained focused on him but keep in there when we couldn't. I think it took 3 days for him to figure it out.

then did you always keep his litter in that room?
this is small house and not many places to keep a litter box. we have one good place, which is in a closet that has a cat flap door.
do you guys think it would work if I temporarily confined kitty and litter to a room but then later moved the litter box?
sorry to laugh but that is totally funny....I have no idea what is up with you kitty.

LOL Mimi. I don't think it'd be good to change the litter place until she's really used to using it. Cats looooove their habits and comfort and the more stressed they are, the more weird they act (by peeing everywhere, for example, as my cat did when we started remodeling the house...)

well so far Poopstink has pooped in 3 different locations of this house. lovely lovely lovely.
how much does a kitten pee? I have not found any evidence of any cat pee anywhere. I am quite puzzled and very disturbed.

for the rest of the time we lived there, yes we kept the litter there. That was about 3-4 months. Then we moved to a new apartment & put the litterbox in the spare room closet.
From what I understand, once they get used to the idea of the litterbox and it has that familiar smell to them, they will look for it if you move it.
