Maybe you hit the nail on the head...maybe kitty needs a new home where it is acceptable to poop behind the entertainment center, pee in still unknown places, and play with laptop cords.
:p

Try rubbing bitter apple spray on the cord (lightly and obviously not near any ends where you would electrocute yourself). I know most dogs don't like the taste of the bitter apple spray, so maybe cats don't like it either?

Also, make sure you put any cords for blinds and things up out of kitty's reach so it doesn't accidentally hang itself. (Have you figured out if it's male or female? Lol)

Bribes like that although tempting are useless to me...can I still have the soap?

I agree with Shannon. Kitty needs a new home. :)

Kitty just needs a little training. Remember, she's a kitty and hasn't learned yet what is acceptable and what isn't.

you can train cats?
not that I have much experience with house-cats... but I remember spraying an ex's over and over and over with a spray bottle - and even that didn't do much good.
(not a cat-fan. sorry.)

the bitter apple doesn't work so well with cats, because they don't really chew. I used that for my bunnies.

that cat is the devil.
send it on it's way.

forgot to say - give her a good whack when you catch her in the act. that's how we trained ours. if you see the damage after the fact, take her to the cords, stick her face in them and say NO! they're jsut like kids though, won't work the first time, you have to be consistent. GL!
