Okay, I've done it again. Lost my marbles. :p I read a post about a challenge where you had to use a new product to do the LO with. Only problem is I cannot remember what the title of that challenge is to look it up again. Can anyone help me out please???? :blink:

hmm, well with most of the challenges here you can get an extra point if you use a new release from the week. The card challenge and the color challenge aren't eligible for the new release point (I think).

Yeah, you're thinking of the extra point for most any challenge. When you do a challenge... say the cookie challenge... if you use an item that was released the saturday before your page is completed, you get an extra point.

Also, the Shutterbug LO isn't eligible because the LO is already an extra point itself. Hope this helps.

I'm a bit confused on the shutterbug. If I do a LO with it, does it get a point?

Yes, you get one point for the photo and one point if you scrap it... however, if you use a new release on the page you will NOT earn another point. Hope that helps! :thumbup: It takes a little bit to get accustomed to all the rules, but you'll get it!

Photo = 1 point
Scrapped photo = 1 point
New Item = 0

The most you can get for the shutterbug challenge (as with all the challenges) is 2 points

How's that for breaking it down. lol

When was it changed? You used to get one point if you used a new release on your shutterbug LO. So if you did a photo, you got one point and if you scrapped it you got one point and if you used a new release you got another point for a total of three points.

I found the answer. This is one challenge I don't do often, so I didn't realize that they changed it. You used to be able to get three points from that challenge.

I think it's always been that way, Paula? I can't say for sure.

And you can potentially earn up to 3 points per challenge (except the 52 Card Pickup, I believe you could POSSIBLY earn 2 on that one - providing that the colors worked) if you combine the challenge with a new product and the color confectionary challenge on the blog and link it back up. The only one that is different is the Shutterbug, where you'd still earn 3 points, but they'd be for the photo, layout, and color confectionary.

LOL! Am I confusing anyone yet? :p

I always thought the photo LO was only 1 point regardless, but when I went back on some of Karen's older trackers she did do 2 points for new ones. I however have always only done 1 point for the LO and am going to continue to, b/c it makes tracking that ch so much easier for me. There are enough ways to earn points now, that not having that 1 point will not hurt anything IMO.

Oh it doesn't bother me at all, I rarely do that challenge mainly because my camera has been acting wonky and I'm waiting for a replacement. LOL

When we did the contest in February for the bamboo fun tablet, we got three points for the shutterbug challenge - one for the photo, one for the LO and one for using a new release. I worked very hard to make sure I got that extra point because at that time - it did make all the difference in the world! LOL
