Just got back from my first sono, dr does it at 8 weeks. Everything is going good she said. Baby is due March 18th or so, Heart rate is 178, higher than dd's when I had my 8 week with her. My two fears were extenquished, 1, I thought it was twins, 2, I was worried it wasn't a viable pregnancy and I had lost the baby. The only thing I am worried about is the sono tech typed up that she found a possible cyst on my right ovary, is this normal, she wouldn't go over it with me and told me to talk to the dr tomorrow at my appointment, kinda worried, any help out there?

Congrats!

I have ovarian cysts all the time. They are very common and usually all my doc does is watch them so that they don't get too big. I wouldn't worry about it at all. I had one the entire time I was pregnant with DS.

Cysts can be pretty common and are usually nothing to worry about. I've had them off and on my whole adult life, they just come and go. Hopefully your doc will check it out and make sure it's nothing to worry about.

Congrats! Look at that little peanut... so sweet.

Awwww, look at the little bean baby! Ultrasounds are so fun! I'm glad your fears were calmed and I'm sure the cyst (if there is one) is nothing. They are pretty common.

Congratulations!!! :)

Yup, cysts are very common....your doc will probably just keep an eye on it. They can be very painful if they rupture (speaking from experience).

Glad your fears were put to rest with the sonogram!

I had a cyst with my first and it got too big and they did surgery when I was 16 weeks pregnant to remove it, they basically did a c-section because they couldn't go through the navel, it had gotten too big.

The recovery sucked on that one, but it's not common to have to have surgery while you're preggo.

Congratulations! Side story... I went to the doctor for side pain, had an ultrasound, they told me it was a cyst. I went back to the doctor a couple of weeks later. They did a pregnancy test because they always do a pregnancy test there. Guess what... I was pregnant! The "cyst" was actually my baby! lol! It was pretty cool to see. And... I have had other cysts that were sometimes painful, usually not. Everything should be fine. My mom had one the size of a grapefruit the entire time she was pregnant with my brother. Had to have it removed AFTER he was born, but it was fine during the pregnancy.

awww! you are totally bringing me back, exactly 1 year ago, i was having my first dr. appt too! (my due date with tennyson was march 9th)

amazing to think that was only last year!

Just think one year from today you're gonna have yourself one of these:

:) congrats!!!! and here is to a totally piece of cake pregnancy for you!

thought i'd add too - little tennyson i believe was conceived BECAUSE i had a ruptured ovarian cyst - (umm oooowch!) but just another funny coincidence - my dr totally put me at ease about it and said cysts were totally normal and that even if i had more now that i was preggers that it would probably not cause any complications.

I'm glad that everything went well! Cysts are very normal, especially in early pregnancy. Most re-absorb on their own and like Teresa said, your doc will most likely just watch it to make sure that it is not growing.

I was one of those one in a million that had one become a problem... but in the end, everything still turned out just fine!
