I am using PSE3 and I'm trying to figure out how to make a text box. I'm thinking it can't be done. Any hints? It looks like maybe it can only be done in the later versions of PSE. I clicked on the text tool and then clicked on my layout and tried the "click and drag" to make a box but it doesn't do it. Hmmmm... anyone? anyone?

Is there another forum I should put this question in? I'll go look...

I'm not very familiar with PSE so I'm not much help. Here's how to do it in PSCS... maybe it will be similar.

Using your Marquee Tool (whichever shape you want) draw your text box, then in your layers palete see if there is a tab that says Paths... if so, choose that tab. Then at the bottom there should be a little icon that looks kinda like a bug or something (when you hover over it it'll say "make work path from selection"). Click on that and you should see a path layer pop up. Then, go back to your layers tab, select the text tool and click inside the box, you should then be able to start typing.

Hope this helps!

I'm pretty sure we can't make a text BOX in PSE 3.0. At least I've never figured it out. We don't have Paths in PSE, that I know. I start my text where I want it, and hit enter when I want it to go to the next line. It's a pain, but that's all I can do. You can get things from designers that have paths built in and then you can use those .... but that's all I know.

Someone here will correct me if I'm wrong.

Atomic Cupcake has an action that works in PSE3. It might help...

(I think it's ok for me to post that link... but if not, please let me know. teehee)

The text box option is not available in PSE3. They added that option in PSE4. :)

I didn't think there was a way to do it. I was doing it as Melinda described. Just looking for something maybe I missed. Thanks Laura for that circle template! I will certainly use that one!
