oh gosh!! :( My poor kid. He had something in his hand, I asked him to hand it over, he was playing around you know pretending to give it to me, then pulling back etc- well it ended up in my hand and I assumed he was done with his crazy games and turned with it in my hand- I guess he hadn't let go, and the end of it has a metal lip.... and it literally ripped a layer of skin off 3/4 the top of one of his fingers :( :( :( Nothing deep needing stitches or anything, but seriously.. it is awful. The whole area is raw and bleeding :( :( :( I cleaned him up, folded the skin back over (LOL it's really not as gross as it sounds), bandaged him etc.. He's fine... I just feel awful :( Finger bleeds are the worst :( He's of course giving me the "talk" about how I can NEVER EVER do that to him again :( Ok I get it kid.. I suck :(

lol oh gosh... I am sure though, at some point I will end up hurting him like that. I swear 90% of his injuries are MY fault.. We're both a pair of horrid clutzes- it's not a good mix lol.

Aww, poor guy... and poor mommy. I'm sure he knows you didn't mean to hurt it but it doesn't make the guilt any less. Hope you both feel better.

I once tossed some toys in my kids room and didnt realize that my daughter was sitting so close to the toy basket and it hit her next to her eye. She still has a scar and if you let her tell the story I threw it at her!! LOL I felt soooo bad afterwards. We were all cleaning and I was just picking stuff up and tossing it into the room it belonged in:-(

awww, don't feel bad La, I think we have all accidentally hurt our kids (wow, that sounds really bad doesn't it? lol) I know when Chloe was about 2 and we were stationed in Baumholder, Germany, we walked everywhere and a couple of times while holder her hand she fell (going up stairs i think) and i still had ahold of her hand. well, her elbow was pulled out a little. I think there's a name for it and the doctor said its very easy for little kids' elbows and wrists to do that but i still felt bad! and it happened a couple times!! I'm a bad mommy too. But it never happened to my other two kids, so i guess Chloe was just more...flimsy....lol.

Aww, La, that sucks! Try not to beat yourself up over it too much... things happen!
Bree once dislocated Mason's elbow... purely by accident of course. He was 3 and ran out onto the street, a car was coming, and she grabbed the only thing that she could reach... his arm. Anyways, his elbow popped, and they ended up having to take him to emerg to have it put back in. She felt SOOO awful!

My husband did the same thing to our daughter. She was running somewhere not really sure where and he tried to grab her and the only thing he could grab was her arm more specifically her wrist. It bruised a little and she said it hurt and we had to take her to the ER to have it checked. They gave us the third degree on how it happened and even asked her and she told him the same thing...basically because she was only like 2 when it happened. Hers was not dislocated or broken though but it was very sore for a few weeks.

They told me it would probably happen a few more times before he hit 5 now that it had happened once. From then on I was SUPER careful. He's 15 now and I freak if my husband picks up the 3 year old by his arms. I am definitely more traumatized than he was. LOL

Ahh, poor kiddo, but don't beat yourself up about it, accidents happen :) I told JT to do a wheely on his razor and he fell on the top of his knee, it turned yellow and black and I thought he broke his knee cap. Turned out just to be a nasty bruise and a lot of dirt but he still blames me for telling him to do it.
