So did I tell you all what the highlight of our vacation was?..........

NOT!!!!!!! We were all sitting on the porch at my inlaws having a few drinks....kids were playing and I look over to my right and see this:

OMG....I was like....."Look there's a snake!".....I just assumed it was a garter snake or something and then realized it was a flippin' RATTLESNAKE! I seriously freaked out.....our kids had just been playing around there! Our inlaws live on the banks of the river and I know there are rattlesnakes on the other side of it.......apparently on their side though too!!!!!! Thank god it is rare, this is the first one they have seen in the twenty or so years they have lived there.
You can see in the corner the wheel of a vehicle......well that's how it was killed I didn't stick around to watch though. Then my sweet (said in a sarcastic voice) FIL buries it in the garden where my MIL digs!!!! What a nice guy!
Lots of excitement that day.....thank god none of the kids were hurt!

Yikes...I'm so paranoid about snakes with DS outside...we literally live IN the woods..so far this summer I've seen about 10 snakes probably in the road (we live on a dirt road) or in the grass in our yard...thankfully the ones in our yard have been only black runners or chicken snakes...the one in the road was a rattlesnake though...oh and I ran over a water mocassin the other day in the car...so whenever we're outside I am constantly scanning for snakes...ugh.

We see them occasionally here and it's definitely scary. We have a friend (adult) who was bitten by one and he was in really bad shape for weeks.

Ummmm...I would have DIED, I am glad I'm at my parents house and the page loaded slow, I might have just died seeing the picture...ICKY...I have a true phobia of snakes...I HATE them.
