Planning on surprising DH with a Wii sometime in the near future.... where did you buy yours? Online or at a store? What's your fave Wii game? We played Rock Band and it was really fun, but we only know like 3 of the songs... lol

I totally surprised my DH with one for his bday in february. I hadn't even been looking--it just fell in my lap. I was at walmart one day and saw a lady with one in her cart so I had to go check. I couldn't pass it up!
We only have like 2 games because they are so expensive--but we like Mario Kart. :)
If you can't find one in stores, sign up for wii alerts! it's awesome!

Good luck finding one!!
We love bowling (comes with it) and Super Smash Bros and Mario Galazy and Mario Kart.
And I have guitar hero for PS2, but I LOVE it so I'd def recommend it for Wii. Rock Band also rocks my socks.

We have it - we love it. We bought ours at an electronic's store. We happened to find an add that they got it in stock...waiting in a line and grabbed one before they sold out.
We've got about 15 games, maybe - some we just buy off the Wii site that are old nintendo games that we have fun with. But we have Mario Olympics, Mario Kart, the sports package, Brain Academy and I'm sure others that I don't remember.
My next desire is WiiFit, but it'll have to wait awhile since it's so expensive.

We have one and got it at Wal-Mart. Our favorites are MarioKart and Guitar Hero. We're itching to get Guitar Hero Aerosmith and Wii Fit but haven't wanted to shell out the cash just yet. :)
Your dh is going to love it!

We found ours at Future Shop (Canadian sister store of Best Buy, though we have Best Buys now too, lol) - everywhere else we looked were sold out.
The games we own are Mario Bros Brawl, Mario Party 8, Guitar Hero 3, and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. I loooove, GH3 (not so much the Aerosmith one, unfortunately...3 is better) and Mario Party!
We've rented a few games through an online game site like netflix...from there we've rented Mario & Sonic Olympic Games, Cabella's Big Game Hunter, Mario Kart Wii, and Sims Castaway. Of those, THE best game was the Olympic Games one - SO freaking funny to watch and hilarious to play - I want to buy it, lol. Mario Kart is difficult without the steering wheel and mostly boring if you've played Mario Kart on the previous Nintendo gaming systems - they just took all those courses and put them on the one game. We have had all of them from N64 and up, so it was disappointing.

Heather, save your money. GH: Aerosmith isn't as good as GH3...GH4 is supposed to be coming out soon, so just save your pennies and get that one instead. :)
I want to get a WiiFit, too. Someday... :)

I ordered mine online at The Source website. It's an affiliate of Circuit City. We love tennis, baseball and bowling from the Wii Sports game that comes with it and I really liked Paper Mario. I'd love to try Mario Kart and that new Mario Super Sluggers that is coming out soon.

We've had our Wii since it first came out. I told all my friends and family on my blog to buy it for me if they saw one, and I'd pay them back, plus shipping, plus a little extra for their time. :) My sister found our's in Boise Idaho at Sam's Club. Totally random!!
We love Wii Fit, Mario Kart, GH3, and Paper Mario. Wii Fit was my sister's to begin with (different sister than the one who found the console for us), but she lost interest in it after 2 weeks. (She's a gym addict...so this was nothing for her!) So she sold it to me for only $60. Score! Wii Fit is definitely geared towards kids, so our family is loving it.

We've had ours for over a year now - found it at Target after they sold out that day at Toys R Us (we got the second to last one!)
We have lots of games - the favs are Guitar Hero (DH), Cooking Mama (DS), Raving Rabids 2 (DS), Carnival Games (DS), Lego Star Wards (DS) and the Sports game that comes with it.
DS is 4 BTW if that helps...

Okay, I'll agree/believe you on the boring part... we don't have any other game systems, so it's fine... but it is lame that they are just repeats.
But, it is SOOOOOOOOO much easier for me without the steering wheel! I can even beat DH without it sometimes! (rarely, but it's happened!). I use the remote and nun chuck and it is a hundred million times easier for me. Anyway... just had to say that. :)

I didn't know you could do it with the nunchuk? I bet that would be easier than holding the remote sideways - I always get all mixed up and end up driving over cliffs, hahah.

We found ours at Target. I was in there shopping and got a WiiAlert on my phone, but I can't figure out how to check the web from my phone to find out what store had it, so on impulse I swung by the electronics in Target and there were 3 of them. :)
We own Mario Kart, WiiFit and Pinbusters Bowling. We rent games from Blockbuster. So far our faves have been Lego Indiana Jones and Monster 4x4 racing.

Bought ours at Target...called every single day...finally a manager told us when they would get them in...and which location would have the most. So went about 6:30 in morning and 8 people were already ahead of us...they gave out "numbers" with a limit 1 per person...but we got it.
Everyone here loves bowling...they bring it over to grandparents house and my mom plays it and the nieces...course the nieces and sons like guitar hero best. Check out the songs in the different ones...you might be surprised what you know. dh likes Tiger Woods golfing the best. I like the dance pad but don't do it as often as I should. lol
We are just finishing up with a $21 month rental for blockbuster...it allows you to check out ONE Wii game (or any kind)...play it for a day, or less, or more... bring it back...try another one. So technically you could try 30 games in a month for $21 ... which makes sure you don't waste your money on a dud. I recommend this!

We got ours at Best Buy after calling everday for about a week to find out when they were back in stock. It took another month to get Mario Kart which I stumbled upon in a Target. I got the last one and the manager was like, girl, you are lucky. I LOVE Mario Kart (it came with the wheel). My son, who is 5, and my hubby love playing Mario Kart every night before bed. It is totally addicting.
My son also really loves bowling and tennis which come with the system. We are still hunting for Wii Fit.
Can someone tell me the difference between Rock Band and Guitar Hero? My son loves music and plays on his toy guitar. Would he like one of these games or are they our his head?

Susan, Guitar Hero will be a bit advanced for Ben, I can tell you that. It takes a lot of coordination and timing...Mason WANTS to play it but gets frustrated after a couple minutes, even with Trev or I helping him. You have to match colors and "strum" the strummer at just the right time - and then there are battles and stuff. It's just too difficult for young kids.
RockBand might be better, I'm not sure. It's more expensive (you've got more equipment to buy to play it), but DH wants to get it eventually. But we haven't tried it yet. :) I know in that one it's not just guitar - it's a guitar, drums and singing. But the guitar for RB is NOT the same as the guitar for GH, lol...of course. ;)

Rock Band is HARD! It's really for adults - no one in my family can sing so we tend to fail. The drums are HARD as well!
DS wants to play so bad but he just can't.... (He's four.)
