I want one SOOO bad, but obviously, having just gotten a new tower...it's on hold for a little bit long. So, I decided to make my computer at least LOOK like a Mac on my screen, lol.
I downloaded this little gem: Rocket Dock (http://www.rocketdock.com)
And spent an entire day setting it up how I wanted and then finding cute little icons from all over the web...anyhow, now I've got the dock looking thing just like Macs have. AND there is a "docklet" for it that if you set it up for a folder, when you click on said folder, it fans out all your files...just like in a Mac! Woot!
I also had to hide the taskbar, just to make it seem more genuine, lol.

Yep...there is a clock docklet that comes with it but I couldn't read it, lol...there is a digital clock docklet as well under "add-ons" on the Rocket Dock site.
Here's how to set up the one that is included...
Right click somewhere on the dock (between icons) and choose "add item" and at the bottom you should see "rocket dock clock docklet". If you like that one, you're done.
If you don't like that one, there's the other one in the add-ons section, just click on docklets in there and browse through them (or just search for clock, lol). It comes with instructions on how to install it, and then I just customized it to make it work for me (I didn't like how it looked when it was done, so I changed it to just tell me the time/date on the outside like how it tells me what program I'm hovering over when I go over other icons and found a clock icon on another site and used it instead). IM me if you want to know the exact steps I took with that one, it's simple but hard to explain on here, lol.

No, it works on XP too (that's what I'm using and what my BIL is using - he's had it for a few years now).

I LOOOOOVE my Rocket Dock! When DH re-installs Windows, it takes him a day or 2 to get it installed & everything back on. I'm constantly scrolling the top of my screen to get something to open & then realize I have to do it the old way, by going right to the desktop. I hate that!

::evil voice:: Come over to the Mac side Bree.....come OVER to the Mac side....
Hehe at least you're one step closer! I totally feel your pain - I have an iMac, and right now I would kill for a latop too but it'll just have to wait! But it was definitely the best decision I ever made! The clincher for me was NO MORE VIRUSES/SPYWARE/ADWARE! :D

Believe me, I want one SOOOO badly. I only got this computer to get me through until I can afford one (my old PC was crapping out and making work counterproductive, lol).
