I have a friend who just had a baby and I want to send her something but they don't "need" anything, they got everything imaginable for the baby. They didn't even register at any stores either. So I want to send them something but I have no clue as to what. Something that would be a nice gift but they wouldn't buy themselves. I was thinking maybe a personalized story book but all those that I've seen are "cheesy" LOL

Anyone have any stores that they like shopping at for neat or sweet gifts?

My bestfriend was the same way and I know she uses shutterfly for a lot of things, she really was swooning over my photo book I made a long time ago (just pictures never actually made one with scrap pages) and so I got her a gift certificate to shutterfly so she could make her own with all her new beautiful baby pictures! It was a big hit with her. I am sure you will figure something out fabulous honey!

I think diaper cakes are just awesome! Everyone needs diapers and you can add anything to them to personalize them. And they are easy to do!

My standard baby gift is The Miracle Blanket (http://www.miracleblanket.com/). I ALWAYS get a call a week or so after baby is born with a great big THANK YOU lol. I couldn't have survived the first month with DS without this and have two pink ones on order for this one :)

This is such an awesome idea, I think I'm going to do this. She sent me pictures through Kodakgallery and I just checked and they do photo books too. She'd love that!

I love these little newborn sets and they might be perfect as we head into fall/winter.

Or if they do Halloween you could go for one of the costume hats. My little girl has the frog one and it's really fun.

I usually try to buy clothes for an older baby/toddler. With both my girls I had mounds of clothes from 0-6months then very little for 6-12 and nothing after 12months. You can find great sales too for things out of season now that will fit next year.:)

LOL, I try, but she hates to be snuggled. Sad huh? She is all about playing and if I want to hold her, I have to bounce her or play peek-a-boo or something, otherwise she just wants to be on the floor and play. She's Miss Independent.

One of the girls in one of my CT's just made these:

She said it was really easy...here's her little tutorial for me when I asked:

Crystal, here's your very complicated tutorial: Just find some Avery Stretchable Iron-On Fabric transfer sheets (I got mine at OfficeMax - right next to the photo paper). Print your stuff on that and then follow the Avery directions for ironing. TIP - don't wait for it to cool like they say before peeling the backing off. I only went through about 5 onesies before figuring it out - I almost gave up. Go ahead and peel the backing off while it's still HOT. (the blisters will be soooo worth it!!!!). I even kept the iron moving on it as I peeled. They really do look great IRL. Of course, I haven't washed them yet. Who knows how they'll hold up, but who cares??? They're too cute!

SAH-WEEET!" :D

And what the heck are diaper cakes?!

The MB is really amazing...I'm not kidding...my kiddo would be fussing and crying and the minute I wrapped him up in that thing he would stop and usually go right to sleep...all I had to do was put him in his crib and he'd be out...he was sleeping through the night by 10 weeks with this blanket. I used it for naps and bedtime until he was 7 mos old and big enough to break loose from it. He looked like a little mummy wrapped up but he loved it and SOO did we lol

Ya babies love being wrapped up like a burrito. I used to swaddle the boys too but they could break out of them, but with this one there's no way they would have been able too.

Diaper cakes are awesome, I've made two. Unfortunately she doesn't live next to me so I have to mail the gift, not sure how that would hold up.

I had forgot about Robeez, I have to look at those!

Ah, k, I get the diaper cakes now. Fun!

I think a little one can never have enough Robeez. They're such awesome shoes for them and there's no end of cuteness to buy!

They have awesome boots for wintertime gifts too. I gave my niece these for Christmas when she was one and she got so much wear out of them.

And I think I need to find a baby girl to buy these for!

In the past, I've used my rubber stamping skills and taken the cloth diapers and stamped images on them with fabric ink and then they become burp cloths. You could do the same with transfers and digital images. I got a lot of thanks for those burp cloths, because you constantly go through them with a new baby...
