would you do if you were fabulously wealthy?

Today is the first day in a while that I've worn socks, as the weather is getting chilly here and it reminded me that I've always said if I was crazy rich I would only wear NEW socks. I might wear them twice or there times, but that's IT. I LOVE the feeling of new socks, when they are clean and soft and not slouchy!
So other than hiring a maid/chef and a nanny for a few hours a day so I could actually get some exercise and scrap and not have tiny children clinging to me at every moment, I would also only wear new socks. That's it. :)

Have someone wash and blow dry my hair everyday. I have a lot of hair. A lot.

08-27-2008, 03:14 PM
Amanda I agree...I hate doing my hair...

I would also go to disneyland...I miss it!

I would hire Janice Dickinson's hair and makeup guys out from under her and have them follow me around doing touch-ups whenever I needed them.

Or more logically I would be like Oprah and have new sheets on the bed every night.

Not only would I pay someone to blow dry my hair every day...I have SO SO SO much hair...I would have someone to do my laundry daily and I would have fresh flowers delivered to me every other day :)

nothing much really.. I couldn't imagine having new sheets every day.. or new socks .. LOL those sorts of things would never cross my mind :D Maybe I'd pay someone to brush my hair for me.. because I ask shawna to come out here and do it for me all the time LOL. I hate brushing my stupid hair.

Oh yeah, I'm with Amy --- laundry duty would be given to someone else.

Also, I would have 2 cars -- not to share with Dusty. One for when I have kiddos with me and one that was spotless all the time because no children would be allowed to touch it!

I would buy all Egyptian Cotton 1000 threadcount sheets for my bed...these things are sinfully comfortable

I would buy an entire refridgerator and keep it completely stocked from top to bottom with Diet mt. dew (in glass bottles which I don't think they even make anymore) so that I'd always have cold ones ready to drink :)

Oh I like this game :)

Man, tough decision. I would DEF get fresh flowers delivered to my house 3 times a week. One for the dining room table, one for the kitchen window, and one for my desk in our room.
I'd have 2 cars as well, both pimped out to the max (obviously). A brand new BWI X5 for when we would go to our winter house at the mountain. And either an Audi RS 4 quattro, or a shiny new BMW M3/M6 (those cars make me drool) to cruise with at the beach house.
And I'd buy 15-20 acres and build a brand new giant farm house on it. Entirely fence in the property, and then build kennels and start my own animal shelter.

omg. first, i would adopt two lil korean orphans! then, i would buy so much crap it wouldn't be funny! i would buy my BMW F-650 gs motorcycle. i would install a go-kart track out back and we would always have go-kart time after school. of course i would have my own coffee shop installed in my brand new mansion on coronado island fully equipped with trained barista's. hmmm...i would also buy an ultra-light so i could feel like a bird. then i would invite all my ssd friends out to see me (all expenses paid) and we'd party on my own exclusive yacht.

I 'd have a chef and I'd never buy groceries again EVER and you can bet I am done cleaning & doing laundry too! We'd have a gardner too. Forget the nanny as I want to raise my kids but we'd have a house with a play room, in-home theater and we'd have a pool. As far as something just for me, I'd have a weekly massage in my house for at least 2 hrs and I'd have a personal trainer!!!

lizzyfizzy
08-27-2008, 03:33 PM
oh ya! i would have a personnal massage therapist at my beckon call. ahhhhh!

KristinCB
08-27-2008, 03:34 PM
I would have a real movie theatre popcorn machine!! And a soda fountain (with ICE of course.. hahahaha)

Now my little sock fantasy seems dumb! :p
I love EVERYONE's ideas too. *sigh* to not have to cook and clean up everynight (I would still cook, but only when I felt like it! and when the nanny/lifeguard takes the kids to the giant indoor pool with waterfall so I don't have small children hugging my legs as I bake...I would only want the nanny to be around an hour a day) and now that I think about it, I really want a giant privage sailboat and when the kids are a little older, pull them out of school for a year and sail around the world...

oh dear. This is becoming dangerous.

I'd want a personal chef and personal trainer. I'd also want a second house in the mountains, near a lake somewhere... I don't know if I'd have the patience to have someone touch my hair every single day, but if they could figure out how to do it while I sit at the computer and scrap, I'd be all over that. I'd also get a Mac with the largest hard drive ever made. ;-)

ColleenSwerb
08-27-2008, 03:39 PM
Think bigger Makabe! Not just 1 big harddrive, build a whole dang network that you could NEVER fill! Like 5 1TB server machines. Now that's dreamin' :p

HeatherKS
08-27-2008, 03:43 PM
I'd build myself my dream house - tricked out with every silly little thing I've drooled over in design magazine for years. Oh, and of course a personal chef to run the state of the art kitchen that I wouldn't be interested in cooking in. :p

I would have a freshly cleaned set of ironed sheets every night. No slippy weird, wrinkled sheets. Just fresh crisp ones. Ahhhhh

KristinCB
08-27-2008, 03:55 PM
ohhhh actually one other thing! my entire house would be SOUNDPROOF so I wouldn't have to worry about any noise outside!!! omgosh I would be in heaven.

08-27-2008, 03:58 PM
ahhh to dream...

I'd have a personal trainer I think and a rocking kid friendly backyard. I'd probably build a new home with a theater, playroom, and my kids each their own bedrooms. I'd have flowers delievered every few days..no maid, no chef, no nanny...I don't mind doing that stuff...okeys maybe a chef

...i would also buy the entire hgtv network and have my own show, using my sweet interior decorating skillz too help america be fabulously decorated.

oooo....i would also start a 30 min show seg on hgtv to highlight ssd and the joys of digital scrapbooking!

My first big extravagance would be a chauffeur. This would relieve so much stress in my life especially if I were to have babies and things.

Oh, and the most expensive luscious custom-made bras on the planet. Like no less than 150 bucks each and made out of silk spun by the most endangered silkworms in the universe. Definitely those.

I totally agree about the hair thing! My hair is a total PITA! It's so thick and wavy and just annoying!

And i would have a cook and maid. I so love good food, but I am way too lazy to cook huge meals and then clean them up! lol!

So house cleaning services, personal chef and personal trainers are givens right? LOL.

I'd also adopt in a heartbeat. And all the other charitable things I dream about when I dream of having gobs of cash.

Then for extravagence I'd definitely have loads of fresh flowers and regular massages.

Yeah, I'm loving most of these ideas. Personal masseuse, chauffer, chef, personal trainer...yep to all of it.

I can't really think of what I'd do, lol. A whole lot of nothing...I'd have everyone else do stuff for me, but I *would* be pretty amazing at spending that money. :D

My first big extravagance would be a chauffeur. oh me too. gosh, what do I hate worse . . . driving or cooking?

aside from house cleaner, personal chef, personal trainer . . .

def would want soda fountain dispensing diet pepsi! and a Starbucks cafe :D

and I would provide free Wi-Fi to my whole town!

Fresh flowers everyday.... that would be so awesome. As it is, I do it as often as I can get away with before my DH starts to complain because they just make me smile!

I either need Sonic Ice delivered daily OR an ice maker that makes the ice just like Sonic. I might as well have Diet Coke (for me) and Dr. Pepper (for DF) soda fountains while I am at it.

I need a salon in my house for daily beauty maintance .... hair, makeup, nails, waxing, ect. I don't really need them ALL day ... maybe just have them come in the morning or for special events.

A stylist to go buy me clothes and then lays out my daily outfit with shoes & accessories.

The kids would want a bowling ally in the house, as well the movie theater and swimming pool w/ a waterslide.

I don't wear socks as much as I used too ... but that would have been one of my quirks a while ago. In AZ it is really too hot for socks most of the time. So instead I want new underwear daily. Bras can stick around a little longer - but like LA said they must only be top of the line.

I also want a vocal coach for singing lessons.

I would tear down my house and build a new one, it would have 6 bedrooms so no one would have to share. They would be small rooms with everything built in, there would be no under the bed to stuff stuff in. I would have an awesome kitchen where I could cook anything I want, but the housekeeper would have to clean it. And in this fantasy house, I would have a scrapbook room. Also, I would have solar power and radiant heat in the floor, I hate cold floors. I would still go to school, but just for fun. I would take math and computer classes, none of that humanities crud....
I have thought about this too much.
P.S., the housekeeper would have to do the grocery shopping, it gives me anxiety

Ok, besides the obvious stuff (new house, cars, college fund for kids, etc) I would TOTALLY snatch up the best three maids I could find. One for laundry (my most-hated job), one for cleaning, and one for errandunning (grocery, etc).
I would also have a chiropractor and masseuse on hand as well as a hair stylist and makeup artist.
Oh, and I'd build a big @ss home theater for DH since its his dream to have one. lol

LMAO! Nice one!

I put mine on my blog so that 1) I'll have something to blog about and 2) I won't look like a complete idiot unless you click on my blog link. LOL!!!

But I like the rest of your guys' ideas, too.

My top pick would be a chef to cook for my very picky family.

Second would be my own plane and flight crew to take me to visit my family back in Missouri whenver I wanted, big enough not to make me sick, small enough to land at the airport in my hometown. And wherever else I wanted to go...

I like the disposable sock thing  ...it would have to be for my whole family though.

I guess my extravagant thing would be to eat dinner out every night, or have it delivered every night. I am not a fan of making dinner! LOL

Oh yeah, I'd definitely have a big huge house on the ocean somewhere where there are no hurricanes or bad weather and it's 80 degrees year round. A maid, a chef, a personal trainer, a manicurist/pedicurist, gardner. The gardner is so I can have fresh flowers that are grown in my garden on my table every day plus look at them all around the house too! We would have a huge in home theater with another room with a huge TV for the game systems. Then I'd have a guest house too with lots of comfy places to sit and scrap both digi and traditionally! ;) I would definitely have a tummy tuck too! Oh and the heck with the H3 I'd buy an H1 loaded. :)

Totally frivolus, but I'd go on a several week cruise. I'm not even sure where I'd go - or if I'd care where it was headed, as long as it was a nice ship
