If my child does not stop screaming I am SERIOUSLY going to blow up!

She has been whiny & clingy ALL day so far, and I can't stand it anymore. She is tired, needs a nap, but every time I lay her down in her crib for her nap, she freaks out. I know its not an ear infection, cause she will lay down for a short time (about a half hour), and then wake herself up and start freaking out. If I go in to check on her, she instantly stops crying and smiles!!! It is getting SO IRRITATING (not that she smiles at me, lol, but that she goes from screaming to smiling in .003 seconds). So I give her back her soother, tuck her blanket around her (she's still smiling), turn my back and BAM! Screaming bloody murder.

This has been going on since 8:30 this morning (its now 2:45). I've given her enough to eat, I've given her gripe water & teething tablets, I've rocked her, I played with her. Nothing is making her stop. Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!

I think she's GOT to be teething... she's been chewing her hands like crazy this last week, along with anything else she can get to her mouth. She's 7.5 months and not a tooth in sight!

aww, what happened to Lizzy the baby whisperer??

I'm sorry Jaedyn. :( Hope she feels better soon. I think teething is evil, evil, evil.

awwww...Jae that really stinks. As soon as I read your post my guess was that she is teething . I am a big fan of teething tabs then a tylenol/motrin cycyle. Also, proping her up a little bit when she sleeps can help. Take a phone book or something and put it under the matress, it takes the pressure off.

Also, remember that if you need to put her in her crib turn the music up really loud and take a hot shower. She may get a good workout from crying but you'll feel a little better. Hugs, it gets better as more teeth come in.

Sounds like teething to me. Hyland's Teething Tablets and a small dose of Tylenol work wonders for DS. He's cut 6 teeth in 2 months.

What is gripe water?

Is taking her out for a walk in the pram an option? Maybe she'd nod off for long enough to get rid of most of the grumps.

I know whenever I'm hurting, I take a dose of medicine. The little one would probably appreciate some pain killer medicine if you have it.

I didn't know if I could give her both the teething tablets AND tylenol! I've just been using the tablets. Good to know. She seems better today though (cross my fingers!).

Gripe water is a tummy settler for babies & toddlers. Its clear, and made of anise oil (smells & tastes like licorice) & water. It helps bring up burps, get the gas out, and helps settle tummy aches. I love the stuff (we are on bottle 3 already, lol)!
