Thanks lol...I just keep envisioning Katrina and the 7 days we were without power or any way to go anywhere...I don't think they're thinking it will be that strong but still...I haven't seen my man in 3 months! and NOW we have a hurricane!

I feel you! My family is all down near New Orleans. Katrina was devastating for us on so many levels, including the tragic and unexpected loss of my uncle in the aftermath. My mom has promised me they won't stay through another one, and I hope she means it! They plan on coming up to stay with us if the path doesn't change. We live in NW La, so we should be ok up here.

Tracie I'm so sorry about the loss of your uncle. Katrina was devastating on so many levels...
We lived in NORTH mississippi at the time over 200 miles inland and it was still a category 3 storm when it hit us. DH was activated to go down to the coast and I was all alone with DS who was 3 mos old at the time. I think it was the most scared I've ever been in my life.

Ugh! I cannot imagine being alone with a baby during something like that! We were so surprised at how far inland it affected things. Even in North Louisiana, we had gas stations running out of gas, no water in the grocery stores, etc. Of course it was much worse down south.

I'm also hoping hard we don't have to deal with Gustav. Here's to it petering out (please).
