at one time on digi stuff?

I'm over at TLP filling up my cart and geez it's a lot BUT they don't have sales too often and I'm loving that new BOYC kit.

Help me not feel bad about dropping some dough :p

And then I've got new Sweet Shoppe stuff tomorrow...

and then sweet rewards next week...

GAH!!

Are any of you like me and as long as you spread it out over a few days do you feel like you're not spending as much lol....denial much? lol

The most at once on digi I believe was here the last time we had sweet rewards, I think it was something like $50. That was just that one day, I had also bought something the Saturday before that so . . .

Probably around $30. Hoping to drop another chunk at Sweet Rewards time, depending on the bank acct.

around 25 dollars I think. Never more then that and if I spend that I dont buy anything for awhile. Total I think since I started Ive only spent about 400 dollars and that was about 2 years ago

I've spent $40-ish a couple of times. My spending has decreased quite a bit.

Ohh I shudder to think how much I've spent since I started nearly 3 years ago...ignorance is bliss in that department lol!

LenaGardner

I usually don't spend more than $40. Shopping at sweet rewards is really my main shopping for the month. Occcasionally I pick up something else if I can't wait or I actually need it. Usually I spend closer to $20.

I think I've spent $35ish a couple of times over the last 3 years, but not too often (although I could easily fill my cart that full!).

Jennilyn
08-29-2008, 02:10 PM
No more than $30 ever...usually just $5 at a time. LOL

Julie Billingsley
08-29-2008, 02:11 PM
I've spent about $60 in a single chunk before. But compare that to me walking out of a regular scrapbooking store just a few days ago with 4 chipboard albums at $6-8 apiece, 2 small jars of flowers at $5, brads, ribbons, and other tiny goodies for about $20... this doesn't include paper.... and my total was $65. And I don't have even the necessary ingredients to make a single layout! Gosh, I love digi!

Probably $50 at one time. That was quite awhile ago though. I plan on doing some serious damage with my sweet rewards!! :) I got the green light from DH to clear out my SSD Kaboodle list, so that's exactly what I intend to do!! LOL!!

At a single shop in one day...probably about $40ish. In a single day...over $100, lol. I used to shop ALOT, lol...since I've come here, where the best of the best are...I don't have to spend so much! :D I came from spending $300-$400/month to spending maybe $30/month.

Sarah8914
08-29-2008, 02:23 PM
I've probably only spent $15-20--and only like once, maybe twice. I'm too cheap! Plus, I have a REALLY hard time spending a lot when I know I won't use them fast enough. If I planned to use them right away, it my be different. But I've got enough good stuff with my CTs right now.

AddictedScrapper
08-29-2008, 02:24 PM
Ohhhh YES! I spent WAY more when I scrapped traditional, I've cut my spending about 1/2 since scrapping digi!!!! It's a wonderful thing!

Okay..so I'm not feeling so bad now...

I usually keep it at right at 20 dollars but I'm getting close to 30 today...

I refuse to answer this post on the grounds I may incriminate myself LOL....

Ok, j/k :P...

I think the most I've ever spent during one shopping trip (spree!) is around $75ish. Of course, that was spent right here LOL! I very rarely shop anywhere else. I *heart* SSD!

Amber1279
08-29-2008, 02:34 PM
well I have the worst of both world since I am Hybrid
Until I became a Babe I easily dropped $30 in the shop a few times a month. If I am shopping elsewere in digi land it is usually between $10-$30 but I really don't have time to shop LOL.

Now add that to the traditional stuff I buy and it really adds up. I can't leave my LSS for less than $30 a trip. That isn't counting my ebay purchases or my online hybrid stuff.

It is insane how much I spend

DawnMarch
08-29-2008, 02:37 PM
oh probably the $50 I spent when one of my favorite designers sold her whole store. I don't think I would do that again because, honestly, it's too much at one time and I still haven't even unzipped some of the stuff! That's how you end up with a bunch of kits you never end up using!

I know what NSD is, but what is DSD??? lol, am I missing another important scrap holiday???

I spent roughly 97$ at one time in July. I reeeeeeaaaaaalllllly got my $$$$$ worth tho, as is was all here except like 7 dollars, and everything I bought was either penny candy, from the going, going, gone sale, or with my 40% off sr points! LOL, I got a TON of stuff!

DSD - digital scrapbooking day (i think that's the abbreviation)

I think it's in November

stayawake

$15 is the most I've spent in a month... next month I can beat that IF I get my SR points...I didn't buy anything this month so I could spend a little more and get everything on sale....

DANG! We've got some serious spenders here! I think if I spent over $100 on a single digi purchase my husband would have a heart attack! :)

I usually spend around $5-10 every week or two, depending on what's out there and what pictures I've taken.

What's TLP?

Nettio
08-29-2008, 03:30 PM
I think I spent $50 once but that was probably two years ago and I don't think there's anyway I would do that now. Like someone else said it's usually too much at once for you to actually use. Now if I spend over $20 that seems like a ton and I've only done that on a rare occassion. :D

Even though I've been digi scrapping for 4 years, it was only about 6 months ago that I bought my first kit. I was living off of freebies before that (amazingly, I still like all my first LO's), and I was on a CT for awhile, so I had a few kits there too.

ANYWAYS, I think the most I've spent in one shopping trip was about $20 -$25. And I felt like I splurged, lol! But then again, you can get a lot of great stuff for $25!

Now, if I was to buy everything thats in my kaboodle account from here... lets just say I would spend closer to my years budget, haha!

HeatherKS

Okay, I usually pick up one or two kits in the middle of the night on Friday when the new releases come out. SO I spend about $11 a week. But I can justify it because I stay home and scrap. If I leave my house it is a hundred dollar day. 1st I need coffee $3. Then I need to feed my kids lunch $23. Then I need gas $60. Then there is the cost of whatever I actually left my house for. Last week i went to AC Moore and Michaels. I got a few pieces of paper, Some K&C Owl Stickers and some stickers that looked like duct tape with words on it and I spent $12 And I can't even touch that stuff until my kids go back to school. Not that my husband cares. I asked him the other day if he minded that I had spent $25 on digi stuff in the past month. He said he wouldn't care if I spent $25 a week. I may take him up on that.

Jennifer

I think I spent around $100 on my sweet rewards order at the end of June. I had a huge backlog of stuff I wanted and it was my birthday and a good friend sent me a GC (for my birthday) and I got paid for a scrap thing I had done (etc etc etc) Basically a lot of stuff came together at once so I made the most of it. I haven't spent very much at all since then and am getting to a point where I have to really evaluate new purchases closely cause my CTs are keeping me plenty busy ( and satisfied!) enough. I know in August I've only spent $10. I tend to spend big at NSD and black friday sales and not any big amount in between. It all adds up though!

One of my scrap friends and I have talked about whether we really save money buying at these big sales - cause we tend to overbuy. Sometimes it seems like we should kaboodle everything and only buy/download right when we are going to use something. You don't always get the item you want on sale then but depending on how much you buy it might save on unused stuff.

I was over at TLP earlier and got totally sucked in and then shut the window LOL.

Voodoo_Bryn
08-29-2008, 05:24 PM
Well, tracy ann gets to claim my largest chunk, on NSD... I have over 100 folders of tracy ann stuff, that I never get to scrap with because I'm here so much, lol.
my sisters always want me to scrap pages for their girls, because they've never opened photoshop in their life and would never even think of scrapping on their own, not even paper scrapping, so I scrap for them for their christmas and birthday presents, so I make them buy me girl kits, lol. I'm so mean. My scrap money goes to my own personal use, dang it!

I'm super lucky to be on the CT's I'm on, which is why I only join teams of designers whose work I absolutely love. Those girls are brilliant, I love working for my kits!

meems
08-29-2008, 05:47 PM
I doubt I've ever gone over $40, maybe not even $30.

I try to keep my purchases to under $12 mostly. There really isn't much point to me buying anything since I've got a pretty good gig here . (but sometimes I just can't help myself LOL)

Shawna
08-29-2008, 05:59 PM
Probably the biggest one time purchase I've made since I started digiscrapping was here @ SSD last July when I bought the entire Garden Girl collection by Robin & Christy and that was $40. That was for 6 full kits, 7 quick page albums and 4 bonus element packs, so it was a lot of stuff.

There have been a couple of big sales where I've spent maybe $15-20, but it's been quite awhile since I've been able to do that. In the whole month of August I've spent less than $10. Money has just been too tight since I became a SAHM 16 months ago that I just don't get to shop very often. Good thing I have some awesome CT's that keep me well supplied with goodies!!

Andrea Gourley
08-29-2008, 06:01 PM
Well being a hybrid girlie I guess I spend more than you digi girls. I quite often can spend £100 on embellishments/ribbons etc. so that's roughly $200 ish. Yesterday I went to my local scrapbbok shop for a glue stick - yes just one glue stick, possibly 2 to make it worth my while driving the 30 minutes down the motorway to get there. I spent over £40 ($80) Like how did that happen????

I average about $8-10 a week. But I mostly only buy here.

Just check the monthly SSD sweet rewards receipts :D I spent a fortune on my birthday stocking up at different stores back in March, like over a hundred bucks but I will NEVER do that much again! So once a year I go hog wild and once a month with sweet rewards semi-hog wild. Average SSD monthly spending, $30. Which I am trying to cut down on. I can't believe I just admitted to that

lmao! yep. this is me to a T. just in the last few days I bought a Cori Gammon kit, some of her Kraft papers, then I went and got that Mr. Fancy Pants kit at Shabby Pickle. oh, and of course Danielle's second set of overlays. and some torn paper templates. then i bought a kit and Penny's overlays this morning. so yah. I've been bad. i think i'm done for the month. i feel bad now! :p

and you know the worst thing? my DH has no idea that i buy these things. He knows i scrap a lot and that i'm on teams and i get those kits free, but other than that he really doesn't pay any attention. If he happened to ever glance at our bank statements and see all the PayPal transactions, then i'll have some 'splaining to do, lol. The last month I've done much better but in the past...OH MY I could just smack myself for not giving it to a charity or something. $5 or $10 here and there seems OK to spend but then it really adds up. In one shop, just digi... I think 90-ish have been my top.
But I've spent over $200 in a day mixed in different stores.

After much shuffling of my shopping cart contents, I finally checked out at TLP tonight. I just closed my eyes and hit "check out" fast before I could think about it any more. :D :D

You know, when I'm spending a lot of time and money on digiscrap, I've found I'm spending way less money elsewhere. Ultimately, I end up spending way less than when I'm not digiscrapping, and I'm doing something creative, constructive and that will have meaning for future generations of my family. I could have a lot worse habits, and I refuse to feel guilty about it.

Im with those who dont count! No need to dwell on bad sums of money - lets dwell on the fun we have scrapping them instead - go and fill out the 101 reasons thread Manda started - its way more positive Preach it, sistah! This is exactly the way we should be thinking.

I tend to spread things out with way too many $5-$8 purchases... They do add up, though! My only really huge purchase (in my book) was a couple of months ago when I bought Janet Phillips' 50 for 50 pack. $50 is a lot for me at once, but I added up what it would have cost for all of that stuff, and swayed my DH with the total SAVINGS, not the total amount.

My cousin also taught me about "girl math." Say you spend $20 on something that would have been $30 had it not been on sale. You still have $10 to spend!

newfiemountiewife

I look at it this way. If I went out to the mall, how much would I spend in one shot? A heck of a lot more than the $20 or so bucks I spend every few days. This is my only hobby, so that's how I justify it. LOL

I don't spend nearly what I did when I started, but when stores are having sales, I think I have spent about $100 in one transaction which I don't think is much at all compared to how much we spend just when we are out running around with snacks, eating out, and miscellaneous expenses.

When I think about how much I used to spend on paper scrapping supplies, I don't think that I spend much at all on digi. I used to easily spend at least $75 every time I walked in the LSS and usually $150 to $200. And, with digi, I have 7 completed and printed albums (25 to 91 pages each) that look great and don't take up much space. Whereas with my paper scrapping, I have several incomplete albums littering my house.

I think the most I've spent is around $11 ... and that was after a gift certificate. I don't have a lot of money left at the end of the month for kits, and honestly what I'm spending I don't really have ... I just spend it anyway and cut corners somewhere else. ;)
