Tried to call to make an appointment at this cute and trendy little "salon in an renovated house" place (I LOVE those!)... but they didn't have an open appointment this Saturday. :: pout ::

I need my hair done before a bridal shower this weekend. I love my pink hair, but it needs a little touch up... and also, since I don't want to give my husband's grandmom a heart attack when she sees me, I want some advice... since there are quite a few of you dying your kids hair here, I thought I might get some help! :D

So, tell me... besides Wal-Mart (HA!) where would you go to pick up some slightly hot pink/gorgeous red color that's bright enough to make your hair look somewhere in between "crazy punk chick" and "bad home dye job" (you know, the "Whoops, I didn't mean to look this red!" look). Trying to be myself and respect my brother-in-law's upcoming wedding at the same time, you know?

My kid's hair definitely doesn't look accidental, but I got it at Walgreens. LOL

What did you get? Last time I got some L'Oreal Colour Rays stuff and there really wasn't enough in the package to do what I want it to do...

AHA! That's what it was!! It's called Jazzing by Clairol... you can use it as temporary or semi-permanent (I always use it semi)...
get this color: Cherry Cola (http://www.sallybeauty.com/Jazzing%20Sheer%20Haircolor/SBS-320943,default,pd.html), you'll love it!!

Hey Bryn....Will this cover EVERYTHING??? I am in major need of a root touch up but don't really have the $$$ for it....I found a great color on the site but my roots are pretty dark compared to the rest of my hair...see this LO for the full color job but with dark roots:

I agree with going to Sally's, but I wouldn't count on the employees being able to help much. In the past, they were required to be licensed to hairdressers...now, not so much.

Ooo! Yes! That is definately the color I want.

I also have this problem right now in that I dyed my hair dark, dark (almost black) brown a few months ago and the L'Oreal stuff I got only lightened up my roots that had grown out. I'm a little afraid of what another "lifting/lighting" product would do to my roots (and NOT to to my dark brown parts). One reason for wanting to get that salon appt. :p But if the Cherry Cola is semi-permanent, that might be the best idea. ;)

Ooo! I'm getting excited now! :D

Oh, I totally vote for the salon. I have never had good results doing anything at home.

Awww I'm sorry you did have luck getting into that Salon Nicole :(. That is the type of place that I would love too. For a "do it yourself" job though I am in with everyone else with going to Sally's and I LOOOOVE that Cherry Cola color that Bryn suggested. That is an awesome color!

Ohhh you are so giving me the itch to dye my hair that color again! I haven't in a while and I think I need a little "spicing up" :)
