...is on my blog (http://littlebitscrappy.blogspot.com/2008/09/my-prints-came.html). I received my single page prints, so if you want to know what the quality is like you can read my review. I haven't photographed any of the pages, but I suppose I could scan some in if you MUST see what they look like tonight! lol

For those who don't know: MPT= MyPicTales

Hmmm, grainy pics? That doesn't sound very promising. And you have to resize your layouts? I really like that scrapbooks, hmm, what's it called? the 2peas one? anyway, that's who i use for my layouts, and i love the quality and even more i love that i don't have to resize layouts.

thanks for doing the review.

Thanks for the review. I was wondering about the quality when I saw a post about this somewhere else. I think I will be staying with where I am. The quality is fantastic and I never have to resize from 12x12. I noticed at the MPT site that you needed to keep the file size no larger than 8MB I think so I wondered if you would lose any quality with the resizing and file size. The price sure looks nice but I woud rather pay the $1.00 more for the quality I get. Thanks again for the review. Saves me the time and headache of it all!

Do you have a link to their printing service? I can't find it on the site.

I think the 2peas one is actually Scrapbookpictures.

That's the only place I ever order from and I've been nothing but thrilled with all my layouts.

Amanda, who do you order from?

Thanks for the review! I ordered single pages - just enough to get my $100 credit, and I'm interested to see how they look. I've always used ScrapbookPictures.com and have had great success with them, but have been looking for a cheaper option. I definitely don't want to sacrifice quality, though.

Thanks for your review! I am supposed to get my prints today!!! (I got a UPS email a few days ago). I ordered $30 worth on the 32st of August, the notice for the free prints was still up, but I did not get any coupon. :( I figured somehow the time change from where ever they are located accounted for it? I was sad, but whatever - it's about a quarter of what I was paying at Costco! I love my Costco prints, but I did want to give this a try. :)

Megan, did they require you to send back your originals before they would redo your prints?

I've heard of many people not getting their coupon. I only got mine b/c I posted at a thread at DST. Appears none of my emails are not getting through to them.

I'm going to do a couple test prints @ Costco to compare using the exact same files I sent to MPT.

It appears according to the threads on DST, lots of people have problems. It's a shame. I have never printed a thing, so I have a LOT and this seemed like a good option. However, if I have to reduce the size (I work in print, so I know what is good/bad), I don't think I want to have to do that.

ok, just looked through my order again. I had ordered 20 prints. 5 are obviously trimmed crookedly.

Scrapbookpictures.com They are the best!

ETA: I really can't say enough about this company. They should give me free prints for all the nice things I say LOL! My orders always have come within 5days of ordering and I ordered 85 prints last time I think. I just can't stress enough about the quality. They actually look better than what they did on my screen and that is wonderful to me. I would love to have a cheaper option but I also won't sacrifice the quality if at all possible for that option. For me I am still coming out way cheaper with digital when I think of all the "collecting" I did with my paper stuff LOL!

Nope! :)

Wow, Scrapbookpictures is too expensive for me. :( Having over 100 pages to print... I jsut can't afford it. sniff sniff!

You just missed their sale. That's when I did mine but I am sure they will have it again. Not sure how often they run it!

Lindy - you may want to send them an email with your order nubmer to let them know that you didn't get the coupon. I think they extended the promotion into September, so if you ordered in August, you should be fine.

I hadn't received my coupon within a few days of my order, so I sent an email to them through their 'contact us' page. After I didn't hear back, I just sent an email directly to them (the address is on the contact page), and they got right back to me with the coupon code for the free prints.

It's worth a try!

Typically I print 8x8 at home but I've been longing for some 12x12 prints so I did an order at MPT so I could get the big coupon as well. It should be here today (hopefully) and I'm looking forward to seeing how they look.

I guess I didn't realize when I ordered that they are actually doing color laser printing instead of photo printing - I think that is what accounts for the "grainy" comments I'm seeing.

I'll update after I see my prints.

This was my first time using single prints, I usually get books from Shutterfly...
I was really happy with my MPT prints, especially for the price. I guess I haven't seen really quality then.

I have to agree...I went to Michaels this week and stickers were a bit pricey... $3-5 and you can only use them once. My stuff use to get so beat up from moving it around and trying to stay organized. Thank goodness for Digital and Sweet Shoppe!

Yeah, but I scrap far more now than when I paper scrapped... it would've taken me over 2 years to scrap as much as I've scrapped these past 8 months. So though the price per page may be lower, RIGHT NOW it is way too expensive... kwim? I am a student and I can't spend $200 on prints right now. Sigh. Guess I just gotta keep shopping around!

Also...
check the email that's attached to your paypal... DH's email is attached to our paypal and they sent my coupon to him. He just forwarded it to me when he got it.

I must not know quality either..I really liked my MPT prints, too. I didn't get the coupon though, I emailed them and I am waiting to see.

I received my order this weekend, and while the digital papers and elements printed really well, my photos are grainy. I have a Nikon D50 and haven't had trouble with photos anywhere else, so it must be their printing. While they're not horrible, there is definitely loss of quality in the pictures.

Nope not just you. I am waiting for my reprints now although they say the graininess won't be fixed:( , just the trimming.

Yeah, my trimming was a bit off too, but not too bad so I decided to let it go. I've heard some trimming for others was horrible, though!

Mine was pretty bad especially since I spent a couple hours resizing and moving stuff I thought would get cut off. Maybe if I wouldn't have spent all that time resizing, I wouldn't have thought twice about it.

I got pics printed at scrapbookpictures as well And i was impressed at the time. That being said I recently ordered a whole bunch from Artscow and I ordered a double print by accident. The colors were much truer and sharper from my artscow print. I should take a pic of them side by side, i was actually shocked that the artscow is better because the 8x8 (8x10) are .49 cents each. I even put them side by side for my husband and he said the artscow one. Maybe tomorrow I will take a pic of them and post a review on my blog.

I think the reason that people are seeing graininess in the photos is because they are printing via a color laser printer, not a photo printer. They've been very up front about this and I think everybody just has to decide if that works for them. I still haven't rec'd my test prints (there was a problem with my order I guess) but I should soon. I'm guessing that I'll not end up using them a lot due to the printing process (I actually didn't realize they were using a color laser instead of a photo printer when I ordered) but we'll see - maybe I'll be surprised.

I think that the whole "which printer to use" thing is a personal choice. To one person the quality is "terrible" due to the grainy photo factor but to another person for whom $2 or $3.50 prints is simply out of the question (whether for budgetary reasons, the quantity that they scrap or just their own personal sensibilities), it looks great to finally see their layouts in print.
