Does anyone know how to change the bg color in photoshop to dark gray. I'm talking about the program itself... not a LO.

Like HERE on Jessica Sprague's Blog (http://spraguelab.squarespace.com/blog/category/photoshop-friday-tutorials)

Am I making any sense at all? LOL!!!

ok i just googled to see and try this way instead..

1. open a new image
2. choose the paint bucket tool
3. pick a color you want the background
4. hold the shift button and left click on the dull grey background and voila!

(oh and the way i do it the curser has to be on the move tool in order for it to work)

Do you have PSE6? The way it works for me is to have something opened (like a photo or project) and then in the black space I right clicked and it gave me the option to change it to black, gray, or custom.

I have CS3 and it did work. But I realized I am too used to that gray.

I have just done this in CS3 mine is purple now lol open a blank document, go to view>screen mode> full screen mode with menu bar, then choose your colour select the paint bucket tool and hold down shift while you click anywhere outside the document. Hope that helps. Hugs Crystal xx

Jessica is using Photoshop Elements 6 in her screen shots, so that's why the bg color is that dark grey. Personally, I think it's harder to see things with the darker color and know several people who were unhappy that PSE made that change to the program.
