Does anyone know of a cheap place to buy maternity clothes? I hate to spend a ton of money on clothes that I will wear for a year.

target is a great place for maternity clothes. They tend to have a good selection and they change it up quite a bit. I also like gap, though not THAT cheap, you can get some good stuff on sale. My best find there was 3.99 for adjustable waist pants. The thing with the gap clothes is that they are more durable than the target stuff and I can wear them again next pregnancy.

I just picked up my new favorite pair of maternity pants/capris (by FAR!) from Ross for 10 bucks. It's kind of hit or miss there though... but they aren't too expensive!

Kohls has awesome sails! I love Old Navy too!

Old Navy. Great range of sizes.
JCPenney and Target - personally I found their quality was poor for the price.
Best advise I was given was to splurge on one quality item that would grow with you, be it pants or top, and accessorize.

I really recommend the secret fit belly pants/jeans at motherhood...i bought a jean and khaki pair of capri's when I was about 16 weeks and I've been able to wear them all summer and they still fit at 30 weeks. I'm going to buy a pair of jeans and long khaki pants when it gets cool enough but I'll wear them until the baby is born. JcPenny has pretty good prices on tops...cheaper than motherhood, but I was in motherhood this morning actually and they had all their summer tops on sale right now..with tops you can always just buy big and grow into them.
With DS I bought nearly all my maternity clothes at oldnavy, but the few things I've bought this time I was very disappointed with the quality and fit(I shouldn't have ordered online lol)...it seems to me the fabric and styles they use is geared much more toward young 20-something expectant mothers kwim?

I got my most fave maternity clothes at old navy, but I got a bunch on ebay that were really nice too!

Old Navy and Target are pretty reasonable. If you're patient enough to look through the racks at Ross, they've got great deals too. I always get a headache when I'm there though, I have no patience!

I got my maternity wardrobe mostly at Old Navy, Gap Outlet and Ross...
I did get some stuff at Target, but i was on bed rest, so i didnt need the "career" clothes, which most of theirs seemed to be.

I just recently found some really cute tops at Ross for $3-$4 a piece. I prefer Old Navy for my pants, mainly because I need the "short" size, but I usually get them for cheap off of Ebay. I have also found some cute tops at Kohls and Target in the Junior section where I just bought a size bigger and they are perfect for maternity shirts (kind of the babydoll-type shirts).
Kohls is inexpensive and the quality is pretty good.
Ross is cheap but you get what you pay for.
Old Navy has great stuff, esp when you can catch it on sale.
The only thing I never skimped on was pants/jeans because I wanted them to last and be comfortable.

I agree with the Motherhood Jeans..splurge on them!! Seriously you will love them. I liked Target and Old navy for shirts and stuff. I lived (still do haha) in Old Navy yoga pantsfor the last 12 weeks or so. Depends on your body too for comfort. I'm quite tiny, so I just bought like a Large or XL and wore it til I delivered

I love Old Navy for shirt and undershirts. I haven't been so pleased with the jeans. I've gotten a couple of cute shirts from Walmart - surprisingly. And if you catch Motherhood on a good sale, then they have great stuff. I think I have a couple of things from Kohls, but nothing that I LOVE and want to wear everyday. I'm going to have to check out Ross. I didn't even think of that!

Well I might be alone here but I checked out some local consignment stores for maternity clothes when I was pregnant. I hated spending twice as much on a pair of maternity pants which I would only wear for a few months. I also wore things which were designed for non-pregnant women with adjustable/elastic pants or shirts with an empire type waist that would go over my stomach.

okay, if you're small, motherhood jeans stink! they only have s, m, l! And the small is too big for me! blah! I use old navy usually, but I wanted to try the secret fit belly!

I loved Motherhood...and I know it is expensive...but I'm a big girl to start with...and they were the only place that had plus sizes that I was comfortable in.
I also did a lot of ebay-ing when I was preggo.

I didn't really care for Motherhood's jeans & pants, they never seemed to fit me right except for 2 pairs of cute corduroy pants with the under belly band that I found there when I was preggo with Kelsie. When I was preggo with Kyle I got my fave pair of jeans from Target, they were the under the belly style with the expandable elastic waist things. I wore them almost the whole time and was so bummed when I finally outgrew them! I always found great sales & clearance deals on shirts at both Kohl's and JC Penney's.
I really need to get rid of all my maternity clothes now that Kyle is almost 18 months old and they are just taking up space in his closet! Especially since we are definitely not having any more kids lol! My SIL just announced they are expecting their 3rd so I need to see if she wants any of them.

I spurlged on a great pair of jeans, but got most everything at Motherhood, ON, Target, etc. I was also lucky enough to live near an awesome Maternity Consignment shop...great brands, way cheap. :D

Most of my maternity wardrobe comes from Motherhood or Target, but I haven't loved either one.
The Target stuff looks better on me and has a more comfortable waist style, but it doesn't last well--it gets me through 1-2 pregnancies depending how much I wear it. The Motherhood stuff lasts, but I've been very disappointed in their waists and overall clothing style. (It's also more $ than the Target clothes.) I tried the secret fit belly for one of the few pairs of shorts I bought this time (my 3rd pregnancy, but I didn't have shorts yet), and I hated it. It doesn't stay up on me, so I had to fold it over and then got the band around the middle that the secret fit supposedly eliminates. In part where I'd recommend shopping depends on how much you plan to wear things. If it's just for one pregnancy, I'd go with Target.
