View Full Version : Is this "ok" to do when scrapping...

Does anyone else do this...I find that I tend to pick different things from different kits when scrapping. And then when I do a challenge, I start off using one kit and then by the time I'm done, I maybe haven't used anything from the kit I originally started with!! Arghhh!!! And it makes the list of credits longer as well. Could someone look at my gallery and tell me if I'm doing that part right?

I think my latest LO only had one little thing from the shoppe. :( Is that ok? Or are we only supposed to use papers and elements from the shoppe here? I didn't mean for it to be that way..it just ended up that way.

As far as using other kits (not sold in the shoppe) it's okay as long as it's for a challenge. And the way you listed all the items used is perfect.

Your credits look fine to me. You are allowed to use products that are non SSD for any of the challenges. We want everyone to be able to join in the fun but it has to be for a challenge. I think the problem comes when people are just using the gallery to upload photos of any designer and we really want it to be a place where people can draw inspiration from the gorgeous products our SSD designers create but again you can use non SSD products for completing challenges. I will say though that you can earn an extra point for doing a challenge with a new release for the week so keep that in mind. Hope this helps and I haven't confused you!

ETA:Amy beat me to it LOL!

That makes a lot of sense - thanks! I have more Sweetshoppe stuff than anything else but for some reason, my most recent layout ended up without much in it which wasn't my original plan. But then I started worrying about it. Thanks for clarifying.

I dont think there is any proper way to credit. I dont always do it the same. Sometimes I just list the kits used with the designers name. If I have more time I am a little more specific and list each item like white flower-this kit-this designer. As long as you are giving credit and acknowledging the designers I think that should be enough. Adding more details is always good because it helps people know who made it.

Some sites do allow you to post other sites stuff but do not like for you to list specific designers. Other sites only want the things from their own stores. Its ok here if you are doing challenges but otherwise it is supposed to have at least something from the store.

Oh and I pull from alot of kits most of the time. Some people only use one kit but its totally ok to mix and match so if that is what you want to do then thats good too :-)

When I do credits for sites like Sweet Shoppe that are not 'open,' i.e. can't post anything from anyone at any time, I usually just list designer name & site initials. Most scrappers know the bigger scrapping site's initials, but if all else fails, you can always feel free to PM a scrapper to ask abt initials or designer locations.

If I'm uploading something that is predominately one or two kits sold at that site, I list designer name, kit/element name, and mention that it's available at that site for sale.

HTH!
