View Full Version : Are most of your layouts for challenges?

It seems like I always have a challenge in mind when I go to start a layout, so I thought I'd see if others are the same way. I probably end up with about 50% of my layouts filling challenges. Although, I must say I earned 30% last month and only managed to spend $5.00 to apply my Sweet Rewards too, lol.

I do for my LO's that I post here, but since I am on the ACOT CT, I don't necessairly have a challenge in mind when I do a LO for my CT requirments over there, even though I know I could kill 1 birds with 1 stone! I just like the challanges here and figure that gives me more excuses to get more pages done!

it used to be mostly for challenges. but recently since they've changed when the challenges come out i have been scrapping for fun, or for my CTs. I miss the challenges being every week, honestly. i don't think i'm going to be getting my 40% as often now. but we'll see.

I have months when I do a lot of challenges, some months I don't. It kind of depends on what the challenges are, or if I'm out of mojo. If I am stumped for ideas, I do generally do a challenge LO, they help me get outside the box when I'm feeling uninspired.
Most of my LOs are not for challenges, but almost all of them are for CTs.

Challenges slow me up, so...no. It depends. I love scrapping the challenges but if I need to be efficient I forgo it a bit. I can do two layouts w/no challenge in the time it takes me to do one with a challenge guideline.

Yes, I'd say most of mine lately have been. Although with the changes, I had a little more time the last couple of weeks to just scrap without a challenge in mind. I do love the challenges, though, and I try to get as many done each month as I can.

I have been doing a LOT with challenges and they seem to help me get those sports layouts I have so many to do....done. I get tired of doing the same kind of layouts over and over...and the challenges help me mix them up a bit. Although I am a bit frustrated right now with the new "releases" of the challenges...I can't forsee doing any more other than 1...until the next ones come out on the 20th...which is the NEXT set of new releases...if I knew there would be a handful coming out this week I would have bought a few more kits in anticipation of getting sweet reward points.
I also like the challenges because they get me to do some of those "archived photos" I hadn't gotten around to. More challenges please!! I miss the way it was done (although I can understand the record keeper being bogged down big time)....

It depends...almost all are for CT's and a lot of for challenges for somewhere I guess. I never really thought about it! LOL!
I do a lot of challenge LOs here, but since I'm also on the layout artist team at ScrapGirls, I also do quite a few non-challenge LOs, too.

No, not at all lol! In fact I have only received SR one month and I stocked up so I don't have to do challenges. I scrap for my family- to make memories- and most of the time its hard to fit what I have in mind to a challenge and I am horrible at templates so I can't do those challenges. I think I'm definitely the odd woman out though lmao

I can't ever seem to make the challenge match what I want to do. And it's all about what I WANT. :o

Yes, I do a lot of challenge LOs. lol I have gotten the 40% off for the last like 3 months though ever since I started here. :D

Almost all of my LO's are for challenges or CT work...Which works out so perfectly for me and my scrapping desires.

It really depends for me. I usually try to do at least some of the challenges every month but only the ones that really inspire me. However, at least twice a year I will push myself to make it to the 40% level so I can really shop!!! :D

Looking at my gallery - I'm def. with you, Sheri! it didn't start out like that, though! I'm toying around with the idea of taking this month off from challenges and focusing on finishing up my son's first year book so it can actually get here for Christmas g-parents gifts.

I do ALOT for challenges, but I also do plenty just because :)
And of course my CT pages. But the challenges usually inspire me so well that I scrap in a way I might not have before. Works sooooo well for me!

I love the challenges, they give me focus on my pages, so i pretty much use them to scrap for myself and most of the time for my CTs.

Depends on the month. If it's a month I'm really trying to get a good SR discount or I just happen to love the challenges, then almost all are for challenges. Other months it doesn't work out that way and only half are for challenges. I have a folder of photos and stories waiting to be scrapped, and I only do challenges that help me scrap those things. I love challenges for inspiration, but I don't do challenges just for the sake of doing a challenge and getting a point.

At this point most of my LO's are for challenges - I only started making digital LO's in August and the challenges here are what made me finally take the plunge! Prior to that I had been busy buying up supplies and trying to organize them!! I really like the challenges here for giving my LO direction and also making me try/learn new things. I miss not having the challenges come out each week (even though it's only my third month doing them) - the plus side though is I have more time to do my own LO's now and by doing the challenges I finally took the big leap into making digital LO's......not just collecting supplies!!!

If I do a challenge, I always trying to scrap something that needs to be scrapped anyway. Kill two birds with one stone.

Usually if I'm going to scrap the first thing I do is look for a challenge that I can use but if there isn't on then I just scrap for fun. I definitely try to get my challenge points every month but if I don't I'm OK with that.

Almost all of the LO's I have done in the last month and a half have been for challenges. I had lost my mojo for so long and the challenges are helping to get me 'back in the saddle'. I wish I had CT LO's to do *hint hint*:o :w00t:

I'd say 99% of my LOs are for challenges. Now that the semester has started and I'm super busy with work, the only scrapping I have time to do is for my CTs. I try to do each CT layout to fit with one of the challenges.
Since I'm only using CT goodies for scrapping, I've found that my "New Stuff" folder has exploded! I earn SR, shop for the things I want, but don't have time to scrap with any of it. It's out of control. I should just stop doing the challenges, so I don't feel compelled to buy cheap stuff that I know I won't have time to use. LOL!

I would say I'm 50/50? They definitely get me out of a slump when I need it.

The majority of mine are for challenges. I find them inspiring. I work better if I am given a starting point - with any of my hobbies.

I pretty much do the challenges and then do my own LOs.

I think the majority of mine are for challenges, but I have so many photos to scrap that it's pretty easy to find something for most challenges. If I ever were to get caught up, that might change, but I don't see it happening any time soon. I just love that the challenges give me a place to start and motivation to finish!

a lot of mine are for challenges. If they're not for a challenge, they are a ct lo. LOL

I think I'm 50/50. I try and use CT stuff for challenges, but sometimes I want to do something that doesn't fit with a challenge, and that's totally ok too :)

Most of mine are challenge layouts because I really like having a starting point. If the challenge doesn't speak to me though, I don't force it. I'll do something else.

Pretty much all my layouts are for challenges right now. I am pretty new at this and I am really trying to learn a lot by doing the challenges and by using templates.

Not so much right now...I try and get them done as much as I can. I love the challenges though! For the first time since starting I have got kits waiting to be used. That bothers me a bit.

I would say 99% of my layouts are for challenges. Which is why I started here, there are such great challenges that really get me going. I really get a lot more done! and I usually need the inspiration to get started. I do miss the weekly challenges because there were just the right amount of challenges per week that I would do and not stress about time. No, this week, I find, that I'm kinda of floundering for challenges to work on.
