Lena: Did you get any of your mail today?
David: I think I got ALL of it!
Lena: Well how many did you end up getting?
David: I have no idea, it was so much that it was all rubber-banded together!
Lena: Oh wow, that much, huh? Maybe it all did come today then!
David: Yeah, I don't know how many, but the entire company had to do 20 push-ups for every letter.
Lena: Well how many push-ups did you have to do?
David: 580.
And then it went something like Oh my God I'm so sorry are you okay is everyone mad at you are your arms going to fall off?
He was fine :) and so were all of the guys in the background though I could hear them razzing him. At one point I heard a guy say, "I did all those push-ups for your a$$"
Apparently it was a big to-do and I'm giggling that the drill sergeant even had to count them all to tabulate their 'punishment'. LOL!
Are you good at math? That means he got 29 pieces of mail today. I know that 3 of them were from me (1 from me, 1 from me but was the printed out messages from my overseas friends, many of you included, and 1 was from Nathan).
I asked him if he had read any of them he said he hadn't had time and that he was going to save all of them for the wait time at the airport tomorrow and/or to read on the plane to Missouri, and that he'd keep them forever and read them over and over if he ever has any problems keeping up his time while he's in AIT.
Thank you girls so much. I wish you all could have heard the smile in his voice! (and the exhaustion, LOL!) :D
