When I first started digi scrapping it was all freebies. Then I started hoarding Nit-Wit kits, then Kay Miller and then stumbled onto Sweet Shoppe and you guys have had to put up with me ever since :D :D :D

I've been "sheltered" digi wise!!! But the more I get out there I see so many of our girls names as designers I am astonished at how much talent there is here.

Don't get me wrong, I am loyal as a golden retriever when it comes to Sweet Shoppe goodies  but I am just curious who all here is or wants to become a designer?

I have been designing for about a year now, at one particular site. I started out the same way...all I did was obsess over the freebie lists, but then I got into some stuff at another store, but started designing soon after. It wasn't until this past summer that I found SSD and you haven't been able to get rid of me yet...I enjoy being the token male.

nah, I tried my first kit and gave it up. I'm bad enough.

There was just a thread at DST the other day about male designers - I linked them up to your store :) :)

AND! You crack me up - so you must stay :) :)

I have secretly made some papers, but I don't really have interest to move forward on anything else I don't think. At least not yet, right now I'm quite content to just buy what I need LOL

Thanks!!! Oh don't worry, I have no intention of going anywhere.

I have never once tried to design anything on my own. The closest I've come is using Nancie's PDQ overlays to make my own bg, and I wasn't even good at that.

Jacq, aka purple_colourz, has been designing, and she's as good at designing as she is at creating layouts.

I tried my hand as designing for a lil while, but I was never satisfied with what I made. The first designer I ever CT'd for puts out a CU grab bag every other month, so I have a whole big collection of CU stuff.

I also don't have teh energy or the ability to think up ideas and color palettes. I give such huge props to all the designers out there. I come naturally to a lot of people, but man, not me, LOL!

I've made exactly one kit and it's nicely tucked away on my HD, lol ... I will make some of my own elements and/or papers if I need something in particular for a LO or print project I'm working on ... but that's about it.

I tried once last year and totally suck.
I get the concept of it all but my execution is pretty bad.
If I could sit and think of themes and color palettes and have someone make the kits for me, that would totally be awesome.

Can I hire you? I get caught up in all the pretty colors and forget what I originally was looking for.

I have been designing for about 1.5 years.

I have dreams of doing it one day. I love the whole creative process and have so many ideas swirling in my head for kits. It is so funny because I will be in Michaels or any store for that matter and I start seeing all these bits and pieces and patterns and I have a whole kit made out in my head but then I have no idea how to execute the plans. I don't have a clue how to even start to do it. Maybe one day the design fairy will drop and knock her knowledge on my head!

I started designing in June to try to bring in a little money when I was laid off. I've pretty much done mostly templates and a couple of not so great kits so now that I'm back to work I am thinking of retiring! ;) Seriously I like shopping and playing more and I too have no clue how all the amazing designers out there do it!

i designed for about a year, then gave it up. It stopped being fun and i just didnt have the time to devote to it. im happy to just play and scrap again! kudos to all the designers i admire, cos i know it aint easy.

I have been designing for 2 years :) I used to design more than scrap, but I think I have found my balance lately.

I DEFINITELY scrap more than I design. By a lot. LOL

I so want to design, but I have soooo much to learn. I'm getting excited though...maybe next year.

I used to do some designing when I was on the team at RAKscraps. I sucked though, so I stopped. :D

i started designing about a year and half ago because i thought i had to. Seriously, dont laugh LOL- But i joined a site that is completely sheltered from the digi scrap world and didn't have a clue where people were getting their scrap goodies- So i made my own within the first week of starting digi scrapping.
But I got hooked and love it, and sadly I do more designing than scrapping now.

Not that anyone knows me around here :D , but I design too. I started last June and for me it's just as addicting as scrapping. Well, that's not totally true... The pressure (deadlines, coming up with new stuff, keeping costumers interested, etc.) that comes with designing is really frustrating, so I'm happy I'm doing some more scrapping lately. I really missed it when I concentrated solely on designing :)

I don't think I have the creative talent or the technical skills to do designing. I'm sure I wouldn't be good at coming up with good ideas for kits. I'm still not sure I'm that creative when it comes to scrapping!!! LOL

I totally agree..this year has been all about finding balance.

I'm actually retiring at the end of November (well, that's when my stuff will be gone from Oscraps...I'm done making stuff as of last month LOL). I'm still keeping my site open and my stuff on sale, but I won't be actively making things anymore. I love scrapping too much and just don't have the excitement to design anymore.

I have been designing for about 2 months, got picked from the designer contest at Faithsisters and just signed on with my second store last week at GDS. I LOVE designing :)

I designed for about 2 years. I stopped last September because I found myself not doing what I loved the most, scrap.

I really don't think I'll go back to designing any time soon.

I'm not very good and enjoy the carpping more. Plus there is no way I could design anything NEARLY as cute as the gals here at SSD. So I don't design and shop SSD to save myself time, $ and frustration! LOL!

Yuck. Not me.

I hate process, so the only thing more cruel would be if I had to have a root canal done at the same time I had to create a paper pack.

I'm all abt splitting up duties as best fits the individual members of a group. See, the designers make the stuff and I scrap the stuff, and we all live happily ever after as Team Digi Scrap.

I know you Juno!

I have so many ideas in my head that I think would make great kits but I have no idea where to start. I think it's the whole process that is scaring me off.

long long ago in a land far away when i was fairly new to digi and there was a site called Digital Scrapping World and I was on the site CT I made a few pieces but VERY VERy quickly learned it was so not my forte and I was happy to leave it to those that could actually do it with some flair, rofl
