for renting their trucks.

The reason..to help offset the charges of disposing of tires, batteries and oil. WTF!?

That's something they've already had to do in order to maintain their fleet for years up to this point. Now, all of a sudden they're going to start charging end users specifically for this service?!?!!?

They are probably just now deciding to pass the cost on to the consumer, instead of swallowing it themselves...maybe with high cost of oil, they aren't getting enough business? Desparate times call for desparate measures, I guess.

Exactly. This is what happens when businesses start losing many, whether it be via taxation or whatever, the rest of us are gonna pay. They don't want to take any hit if possible. And that's just crazy. If they want to help the environment, did they think about the fact that a lot of people will just make a whole bunch of trips back and forth with their car or truck since they're charging more? Hmph. Sock it to us anyway they can right.

They aren't the only ones that charge it. Back when we were moving in March, almost every truck rental place I checked into had the extra environmental fee ranging from $3-5
